This is Senior Day for Evan, Seth and Isaiah. What is everyone’s thoughts on these guys and their contributions?

Evan - Waved a great towel. Embraced his role as an energy guy on the bench. A very underrated shooter when given the chance. He'd have have seen PT in Groce's Akron Year #1 and acquitted himself well. Decent all around player for a walk on. Fun kid to root for.

Seth - Short, streaky, stocky 3-point specialist. Unwavering confidence in his shot. Not such a great defender. If the Zips were to get in the Big Dance, he'd need to go on a heater if we are to have any chance of winning a game. Good 1-year portal addition.

Isaiah - Good blue-collar player. Jack of all trades. Decent rebounder, decent 3-point shooter, decent ball handler. Confident, veteran presence. Good attitude. Gets into trouble driving the lane...not as good a ball handler as he thinks he is. Doesn't necessarily finish at the rim all that well. Never lacks effort. Never sulks.

My biggest concern is Young.  My worry is that he sees the team's depth as an impediment to his playing time.  He certainly won't have any shortage of suitors.

I like him quite a bit, but he's the prototypical 6' MAC guard.

In his last 8 games, he's scored in single digits in 7 of them (6, 5, 3, 4, 10, 7, 4, 3). I can't believe any competing program is beating the JAR door down with a wheelbarrow of NIL money just yet.

If he goes, it's because we have a bevy of really good players in front of him. It's sorta like the NY Yankees, if you think about it?

Shammah coming back is interesting tho. I know groce says there are 10 starters on this team, but it’s hard not to think we would have Shammah, Tavari, and Sharron again and someone (or 2) would come off the bench next year. Don’t want to lose any of them to the portal, you just never know

If Harris returns, there will not be many game-minutes remaining for anyone else in 2025-26. Harris would take the minutes from Gray's departure, and the others will be fighting for Seth's minutes.

In addition, someone like Nate Johnson could get some P5 interest if he has a nice tournament.

I have to believe there will be some portal departures.

  4. Bowen Hartman had his best game as a Zip last night. Timely 3’s, drove in for an open layup, pretty pocket pass to Nate, and was adequate on defense. Be nice if that kind of impact became a trend. That’s the Bowen we’ll need in Cleveland!

  5. Great college basketball game. Tremendous show in front of a national audience. If Joe Sheboygan or Flo Peoria was channel surfing tonight they stopped on ESPN2 because it had the look and vibe of a big time event. And it was.

    He read this at halftime

He'll need to make more than 1 to get of the schneid.

Lyles was a combined 8-12 in 3-pointers against St Mary's and Omaha towards the beginning of the season. Complete revelation.

    He's a combined 10-46 in all other games. 21.7%

It's like he's possessed by 2023-24 Mikal Dawson.

Yeah...I think it is more likely that he'd have tried to parlay that $30k into a few more bales of the chronic and turn it into $200k.

They say "There's no greater tragedy than unrealized potential". Whenever I hear the phrase I immediately think about that Zips basketball team.

right, he's a big dude, can run with our pace, seems to always have solid positioning.. if he fine tunes some post moves and controlling the rebounds he gets his hands on I think he'd really be a handful

Probably why schools like West Virginia and North Carolina invested a look at him. He definitely has the athleticism and the motor.

Came here to say Athletics did a fantastic job yesterday. Great giveaway, ceremony was awesome, the video they put together was really cool, we had a spotlight for intros - seriously, I don't know who is behind the renewed energy or if it's a collective effort, but they're doing a hell of a job this season.

I agree with one caveat- whomever decided to play music during Groce and Enrique’s speeches at the halftime ceremony should be flogged.
