  1. I'm taking Toledo and giving up the points because ...

    • Toledo looked very good against OU in Athens the only chance I had to watch them this year.
    • It's at their place and we generally haven't fared to well over there.
    • We're inconsistent as hell.
    • Looking/playing like crap tonight puts them right where we want them when we play them again in March in CLE.

Go Zips BUT Toledo takes it 70 ... 61.

If UofA is going to be the cultural center of NE Ohio in the fall with the football team being a feature of the University, only 5 home games is unacceptable. There have to be six. I don't care how they get there, but there have to be 6.

Three games at Liberty, Tennessee and MSU do nothing to benefit the players, students, alumni, fans and general communities around Akron. Playing games with the primary purpose of cashing checks is morally bankrupt, but we are also talking about athletic directors.

Absolutely agree and my first reaction when talking to my son about next year's schedule was "What do you mean there are only 5 home games?!?" We had prostituted ourselves out in the past and I was happy when we got back to 6 and 6. IF sliding to 5 next year helps set us up a bit better so Joe Mo and staff can do their thing beyond that with a full slate of 6 at home, I'm OK with it. I'm also intrigued by the Liberty game in particular. Decent pay day, nice area of the country for a road trip and who knows ... maybe we can steal one down there. I also like the games at MSU and at Tennessee and plan to take in my first SEC game ever in person.

Thursday night season and home opener. Hmm...wish it was a Saturday, but I'll deal with it lol. Should be a WIN!

EDIT: Also, only 5 home games?

I'm good with 5 home games. I like the 3 payday road games at Michigan State, Tennessee and Liberty.

Could someone explain to me what's amusing about my offer for the free tickets?  😕

😄Some of us may have bet the following ...

2/4 vs Miami - "I have two tickets for anyone who wants them.  Shoot me a PM."

2/12 vs PCCC - "Not tonight, my good man. I'm heading to the JAR!"

2/17 vs NIU - "I have two tickets for anyone who wants them.  Shoot me a PM."

2/22 vs BUGS - "I have two tickets for anyone who wants them.  Shoot me a PM."

3/4 vs CMU - "I have two tickets for anyone who wants them.  Shoot me a PM."

NOTE: Absolutely appreciate that you make the effort to offer tickets like you do. No offense intended. Just noticed a bit of a pattern this year.

WMU will fold.  They are bad.  However, they move on offense, unlike the stagnant Zips.

The may be the largest collection of average talent in recent Zips basketball history.  They're not bad players, there's joust no one outstanding.  Freeman is the closest but he's not going to break open a game.

Largest collection of individuals with average talent. I see very little 'teamism' watching these guys. Seems as though Groce has a 'dud' on his hands this year. Glad Groce chose not to burn any red shirts although we probably could have used one of them. Agree with others that this particular team probably isn't going to do much in March. Who knows ... maybe we'll all be surprised!
