    Eastern getting absolutely ROLLED by Liberty 56-20 with about 4' to go. Eastern with 10 garbage time points to make it that close.  MAC heading to 0-3 in bowls so far. Easy to have high expectations for Moorhead and staff.

    Clemson and Washington in tomorrow's Final.

     

    Clemson took out < genuflect > Notre Dame 1-1 on PKs. ND's goal came on a PK. Clemson's was a beautiful strike from the top of the box. Clemson goalie is the primary reason they advanced. Big saves in regulation and stopped one late in PKs. Notre Dame played a 'physical' game not unlike that of the Big 10. Very happy to see Clemson advance.

     

    Washington struck twice within 2-3 minutes early in the 2nd half and held on to win 2-1 over the hoity Hoyas. Not a fan of Seattle but definitely not a fan of DC/Georgetown. This is Washington's first trip to the Cup. Probably going to to pull for the Tigers.

    Sign me up for some "talent, period" whether that's local(LOVE it when they stay home ... in Akron, not Kent) or from the far reaches. Wouldn't mind having one or two Hawaiians or Samoans as defenses are usually bad-ass for some reason (they bring it?) when they're in the mix. Love the names too. Also agree with CK - focus first on controlling the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Skill positions are screwed when a plan isn't able to develop. 

     

    Feeling fine on a Saturday morning. Looking forward to the announcement. What I saw last night was not unlike some of our Akron/Kent games (even some of the recent soccer games) where one side showed up jacked, wanting it and ready to play and the other looked like they had no idea it was their rival or what was on the line. Saw RPO and could have sworn I saw Kato in there early. Glad I dozed off for the vast majority of the game.

    Spoken like a man who has been there, done that and been pretty successful doing so along the way.

     

    I heard confidence, discipline, leadership, lots of wins in the MAC, return to the MAC Championship game (including being crowned champion), bowl invites and wins, P5 upsets and a return to enjoyable Fall Saturdays and Tuesdays. Feels very strange to be in the running for a guy like this. I know - no guarantees but jeez ...

    Was thinking the same thing. I agree with 94 - Gibson seems to have the makings of a pretty good MAC QB. I haven't followed Moorhead enough to know what he likes and dislikes in a QB.

     

    Zach - Hang out for a minute with the rest of us and let's see where this goes. Seems to me you're the type who might grab a UA flag and plant it in the middle of a buckeye.

    ... but your NEO sports fan eternal optimism, especially the Akron Blue and Gold part of that, IS getting the best of you right now, isn't it! Sure is for me. Given soccer, football and the first 2 games of the Tampa tourney, I'm enjoying the hopium!
