I appreciate your enthusiasm but the critical factor that you don't take into account enough is COST. This project will be very costly and will have to be built using private funding. No student fees. That then would indicate that the plan will need to be flexible. By flexible I mean that the construction will need to be done in stages. We start with a 25,000 seat stadium designed with the 35-45,000 seats the University may need in the future. I don't want to see the new stadium ruined because they need to start trimming this and that from the project for budgetary reasons. That is one reason why the JAR is what it is.When Canal Park was built, they left provisions for more seating capacity in case the team became a AAA affiliate. This is the same course that UA should follow so that a move to a larger conference, if needed, could be addressed.

This is the most lucid rational thought you have posted on ZipsNATION. Congratulations! :macc:

Very good work. Looks great.

Love the photoshop work you did. Anybody know the cost of that building in 1980. That would have to be more than 200 million in 2006 dollars. I would love to have something like that but I can't see it happeneing. That can't be put together in stages which is probably neccessary for a facility as costly as a new stadium. If they can get it done, all the better. http://carrierdome.syr.edu/carrierdome/history.asp:macc: 26.85 million dollars!!! WOW Too bad the administration we now have wasn't around back then.

It's going to be awfully fun watching the spring and summer practices. Depth at most positions with quality recruits and returning players. It doesn't get any better than that. :macc:

Of course the most important fact is you didn't qualify for the MAC championship game! The Memphis blue which all the Memphis fans were wearing is very different from our Blue and Gold. The butts in the seats was over 46,000 which was printed in the Detroit News and the articles were all very favorable regarding the game and teams involved. We rocked the house. Your opinion about a game you didn't attend is worthless. You're attempting to fight a war with a cap gun and mommy has taken your caps away. Wait till your out of short pants . Pathetic :macc:

The solution is to get a media guide and learn who is on the team and what their number is. Works for me!

As someone who was at the Motor City Bowl with the second largest crowd in MCB history, the zip fans outnumbered those of Memphis 5-1 conservatively. It obviously helped that we are located closer to the venue than Memphis. They had a nice group but could be clearly seen in two sections of the lower and upper bowl. 50,616 was the paid attendance at the bowl game. I'm sure a few gave up because the lines to get in were so long. How far from toledo is Detroit? Are you seriously getting geeked up about 18,000 people when you are less than an hour from Ford Field? That is truly sad. It was a sea of blue and gold! :macc: :macc: :macc:

As an AK-OLDIE I thought the rowdies did a pretty good job especially with the melt down of the Buffalo coach in the second half. Keep up the good work.

That's the best comeback you could come up with. I laugh at you! :macc:

Come out of the closet rocket, we'll let you jump on board. :macc:

Was in toledo this year, live in Akron. Enough said! :macc:

Toledorockets has been sniffing too much jet fuel. Akron is on the rise and that threatens him. That's why he spends so much time on Zips NATION. He secretly wants to jump on board because Akron is going to leave toledo in the dust or rust like the rest of his tired town. :macc: :macc: :macc:

Losing big leads does not bode well for the Zips!

He also said that he didn't have the time last week to practice because of all the games and that now they are at reduced times to try to keep the guys fresh. They are addressing the weaknesses as quickly as possible. We beat a good team. Don't forget that Buffalo crushed ohio! -
I was at the press conference and Dr Z has given a great recap of the newest class. They are big fast and all seem to have an aggression problem on the field. I think Coach Brookhart and his staff have nicely addressed the needs form the graduating class and now has 3 deep positions all over the field. Should be an interesting season. :macc:

With a 100% increase in the newstand price, I'm glad that their standards haven't changed.

Very good news!

Sorry, none of the info was new news to me. With the exception that Reed signed and like I said before I don't want to repeat errors.
-
If I don't know who your close ties are why would a person not be skeptical. Don't want to pass on bad information. Not trying to impugn anyones integrity. I hope he did sign.

Been there. And the incredible info is..............................

Still can't verify Aaris Reed signing with akron. Just checked Rivals and Scouts.
