Wow! i struck a nerve here!yes, I don't listen to the music format of WZIP, but he was right. They are and have been for years the number one rated student station in the USA. Their FM signal extends into Canada. I know because I used to engineer the Saturday morning programming when I was student (yes, Polka music. Shut up. I know. I was a poor college student and it was one of the few station jobs that paid!) I know this because there is a decent fan following of Polka music in Canada (who woulda thought??!) They would call in all the time.Anyway, it won't happen because it is a non-profit station. If they did, I don't think they would have to have student run the broadcasting. Frenchie and his crew could do it. I am not sure if they work for 1350 or UA, but UA could hire them. Much like the Indians and Browns broadcasters are employees of the Indians and Browns and not the flagship stations.Someone mentioned that Can't State's signal is strong. ?????? Unless there is another affiliate other than 100.1 FM, then I don't see how. The radio thing has always bothered me. 1350 is decent, but outside of the immediate Akron area you get nothing. It is very frustrating. I used to work at WZIP 88.1 FM on campus. I have a feeling Mr. Beck would not go for it (Station Mgr.), but why not carry football and basketball?? Make it 'special programming' or whatever. That transmitter they have in Copley is a pretty strong one. It is NOT your typical college radio station. Why not?

Probably won't be a feed, but those of you that have satelite, call your carrier and make them find the coordinates. if you can't get it at home, maybe the coordinates can be given to one of the local bars.

I stand corrected. I spoke with on of the MAC officials (worked a few of our games this year!) and he said that the NCAA selects the crews for all games in both tourneys. They will be a mix of officials from verying conferences. There is no telling where the three on tonight's game will be from!

Im am with you. When the latest RPI comes out, you will probably find Pitt at about 10 or 11. They played pretty well in the toughest conference in the country. As much as I want to see the MAC do well, it think Pitt by 8 as well.....with an upset being possible!

If that appearance in the MAC Championship was so important, how come it didn't get you the recognition to at least get into the NIT??

Not sure on that one. I can say you will not see a mix of officials from both conferences. It will be one or the other. I have some connections with a few MAC officials. I will ask.

If Krouser (sp?) is "on", you will have your hands VERY full. If he is off and they can get into foul trouble or tournover trouble early, you will handle them. I have watched a fair amount of Pitt BBall this year as my neighbor is an alumn and die hard fan. We are both disappointed that Akron didn't win the MAC because it could have been an Akron/Pitt match up!Anyway, if this was a best of 3 or best of five series, I would give Pitt the advantage, but since it is only one game, it is a toss IMO. Can't is actually dangerous because they will be the underdog. It's the David vs. Goliath analogy (sp?) in a way which is dangerous for Pitt as they have more to lose. Good luck!!
