Well Giles got the better of Agba, but that's okay. Giles is one of those players who would jump straight to the NBA (and likely be the #1 draft choice) if it weren't for the mandatory 1-year of college rule.

It's nice to see UA holding on to quite a few guys from the 2014 class via prep school or otherwise (Boxen, Junius, Williams, Wilson) - too many of these recruits in past years never made it back into the program.
+1.
Let's hope Anthony Clark makes it back next year.

The DB is a juco
That's Chris Bivins & the WR from Moeller is Michael Means.
Where are you following the latest developments?

Maurice Ndour is still a beast.

Greensboro lost 52-50 in 4 overtimes.
Wow, great game! I wasn't able to watch so thanks for the update. How did Peter fare?
-
Jrship35, do you have your Zips tie ready for tomorrow?!
-
Is that helmet black or matte navy?
I'd love to see a matte navy w/ gold "Z."
-
Let's stick w/ the "Z".

Here's what George was working on today.

On Tuesday night, February 3rd, If you'd like to see Peter Agba in action against one of the nations' very top players, and watch what'll most likely be a very entertaining game, on this link
http://www.coachesaid.com/broadcast.aspx
you'll be able to watch a live stream of Greensboro Day School's second game of the season against Wesleyan Christian Academy. It'll be round two of Peter Agba vs. 5-star 6'10 Duke recruit Henry Giles.
Just a bump to remind you of this game tonight.
I don't think I'll be able to watch, so if anyone does, maybe you can report?
Henry Giles & Wesleyan Christian Academy will be out for revenge against Agba tonight.
Good luck, Peter!

Looking back over this 24-page thread, I'm loving how George Thomas has been all over Zips recruiting like white on rice.
-
I'm not a Twitter guru, but where does it say that?
Hopefully he will be back on the team next season.
On the left, 4 lines below his picture.

Rather disheartening that we couldn't land either of these Firestone OL. Especially considering we've already got Tommy Brown & Cody Grice to help recruit. Sooner, rather than later, we've got to start making home-grown recruits like these our bread & butter.
Falcons make decisions
Firestone senior offensive lineman Jovahn Fair said Monday that he will sign a national letter of intent with Temple University on Wednesday.
Fair originally pledged to Ohio University in the summer.
Firestone senior offensive lineman Bryce Harris remains committed to signing with the University of Toledo on Wednesday.

From Yahoo Sports:
"A head coach known for swashbuckling moves and imaginative ways had made one of the worst choices in pro football history."

Well, if he was offered by Seton Hall & Yale, I doubt he's an academic NQ. Lol.
Still don't know what's taking him so long to make a decision.
-
I was looking into him just last week. He's been having a great senior season, but as far as I could gather he's still undecided. Idk, but he may be an academic non-qualifier. That's the only reason I could figure why he hasn't made a decision on college yet.

Pete Carroll throwing the ball on the goal line when Beast Mode is lined up in the backfield.
Given the context of the play - goal line, Super Bowl, less than a minute left in regulation - I say it goes down as the worst call in the storied history of the NFL. Period.
-
Did anyone else notice this?
Five years ago there were two great power forwards playing ball in Akron - Darius Carter at Firestone & Larry Nance Jr. @ Revere.
The Zips passed on both in favor of Nick Harney & Demetrius Treadwell (not dissing on Tree; he's one of my favorite all-time Zips).
For what should be their senior years, Nick Harney's playing D-II & Tree's playing in Argentina while Larry Nance Jr. is the leader of recent AP Top 25-ranked Wyoming (18-4) and Darius Carter is a leader for AP#12 Wichita State (19-3).
Imagine both those homeboys wearing blue & gold. Ouch.

It just means we need to take advantage of the chances we do have to beat notable teams. Never winning in the NCAA tournament is the most obvious example.
We don't need to play them at home to see an interest spike, we just need to beat teams that people around the area have actually heard of and know as a good team.
I like our games against Penn State. If it were up to me we'd travel to Happy Valley every year. They're a quite-beatable marquee B1G team. But I'd also strongly encourage Dambrot to travel to one more marquee B1G school per year - Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Indiana. I think we need to show people we're on a comparable level with those schools.
Honestly, when I take people to Zips games, many of them don't even realize we're in the same division as the B1G.

Sounds like Montel Jordan committed as well. Not 100% sure, but it looks good.
Where do you get this?

Excited about Cooper. He might be the game breaker we've been lacking.

New Uniforms Coming
in Akron Zips Football

Ya know, the white helmet with the full Zippy has grown on me. I like it! Maybe not for an every-week helmet, but it would be a sweet alternate.
