I think they started using it right after the Fear the Roo logo became big, which was right after the football team won the MAC East last year.

It's even better when the crowd boos the other mascots then screams when Zippy destroys them!

Are you kidding me? The MAC knew how big this game would be! It's gonna be the biggest game of the year and it's between one of the best rivaliries not only in the MAC, but in college sports! I, for one, cannot wait! Win or lose, it's gonna be fun and exciting!

That sounds lame to me and not just because I'm a Zips fan. Can't got Toledo at home, we got them on the road. It should mean something that we lost to the best team in the West and they lost to the second best team in the West since both losses were on the road. I guess we'll just have to beat them on March 4th!

It always comes down to playing well in the tourny. After we were getting votes in the AP and Coach's polls, it looked like an at-large may have been possible. I think that's pretty much out of the question now. Hopefully we can finish the season 4-0 and get our momentum back. Plus, if we go 4-0, that mean's Can't loses their final game of the season.

By the way, Jesse Crooks scored a career-high 28 points. We're really gonna miss her next year. Saturday is Senior Day and while I can't make it due to work, I encourage everyone to get to the JAR early before the men's game and cheer on the Lady Zips. I think they really appreciated us tonight!

Good point about forgetting about the polls. I think we were getting too excited and now it's time to take a step back and gather ourselves. We're gonna find out what this team is made of in the next 4 games. BG at home should be a cakewalk. Duquesne, Buffalo, and Can't all on the road are gonna be a test. Buffalo is never a gimme. I don't know how high the interest is up there this year, but their fan support is some of the best I've seen and their student section is in my rankings, the best in the MAC. Trust me, WITHERSPOON! is gonna have his guys ready to play and nothing in Buffalo is easy, just like nothing in Miami with Charlie Coles is easy!

Women pulled it out tonight after being down double digits at one point. The 5 Rowdies stormed the court and it seemed the Lady Zips loved it!

Oh Wow! Getting love in the USA Today poll too. I also heard that on ESPN they did a top 5 mid major schools worth a second look and Akron was #5. I didn't see it, but that's what I heard. I don't think they were saying Akron is the #5 top mid-major, but other than the ones everyone knows about this year (Nevada, Butler), Akron is #5.

I can't believe that dude's mom got that pissed about that sign! He is a nobody player playing on a nobody team. His mom better be glad he didn't decide to go to a real school where the opposing teams have real bad fans who would do 100 times worse what the Rowdies do. I think the best part is the fact that we did the same thing for Nick Fazekas, a player with actual talent who will play in the NBA and he was loving it!
