  1. November 8th vs Coastal Carolina Quote from Coastal Carolina's men's basketball coach Cliff Ellis on their OOC schedule: QUOTE “I think it’s a challenge, which makes things fun, but it certainly makes it enjoyable for fans and I think players get excited about going against big names and seeing how they fare,” Ellis said. “We’re taking on about every big league you can take on -- ACC, SEC, Big Ten -- and maybe the best team we’re playing is Akron, who isn’t in any of those leagues.” Well can you blame him for showing us some respect? After all we are the "reigning Mid-Atlantic Conference champion."
  2. Fixed it for you. You're still terribly misinformed on this issue, but there is no sense in hiding your light under a bushel basket.
  3. Any idea who is in each platoon?
  4. OK if we call you UAkronkid?
  5. I believe someone could make some serious money taking the points in this game.
  6. Zips by 14.
  7. If this is really a course on coaching they better have Newt scheduled to present. His comments are always on target.
  8. As Nordly has suggested let's try to leave the past in the past.
  9. I'll bet the final exam in that class is going to be a killer.
  10. QUOTE(jupitertoo @ Aug 18 2013, 08:49 AM) * Third sentence of story: "The offense, produced some big plays that didn’t hit on deep passes, he said." Can someone tell me what this means? It would be a fun quasi-sentence to diagram. I suspect the offense also produced several small plays that didn't hit on deep passes.
  11. Is "Sean Carroll" Swahili for "Son of GoZips"?
  12. For just a second I thought there was a possibility we could go bowling against Texas from the old SWC.
  13. I would use my phone, but I would not talk. I would text him and that way he would know I was cool. I'm thinking he would be so impressed with my coolness that he would agree to play the game in Akron.
  14. I certainly appreciate your reports, but please stop typing off the top of your head because your editors aren't doing a very good job.
  15. Ellet??????
  16. I'm guessing between 1976 and 1984.
  17. To be clear my point was that the outgoing president's recommendation would have little influence on the selection of his replacement. Making $10 off you was just a side benefit.
  18. No quantification was included in my previous post, but I would be willing to bet you my $100 against your $10 that Tressel is NOT the next President of UA. Care to put your money where your mouth is?
  19. In this case you would be thinking wrong; his recommendation would likely have little bearing on the selection committee's decision. The preferences of people who will still have an active stake in the University after Dr. P is gone (faculty, big-time donors, etc.) will have a MUCH bigger influence. Tressel is one of 9 VPs at UA. His chance at becoming the next university president are lower than just about any of the others and the probability that any of them will be promoted to that position is not statistically significantly different from zero. A national search will reveal the best candidate.
  20. He is certainly the most recent President the university has ever had and definitely in the top 8 all time.
  21. Alright then, but UA1987 and DrZ are going to be upset with you. You really nailed them hard on their negativity.
  22. Here's your sign.
  23. Pretty nervy suggestion from a guy without a clue.
