  1. Akron improved their scoring margin by nearly 16 points per game last season compared to two years ago. Go away, Ianello apologist.
  2. Abreu is the one throwing the ball away constantly. He already has 6 TOs.
  3. They usually travel the day before.
  4. Well, it's not like Buchtel Field is in any worse shape than Lee Jackson. They're both beyond awful.
  5. That makes more sense, although the neighborhood isn't the best. The main entrance would be on Brown Street, I assume. Maybe some more bars would pop up across the street.
  6. Buchtel Field is not located anywhere near Buchtel Avenue. Akso, unless they were talking about the old houses east of Route 8, I don't see any building on Buchtel that need razing. The Chapel is not going anywhere, and neither is Central Hower, the CAS, Simmons Hall, Robertson Cafe, the north parking deck, or EJ Thomas. Downtown, it's all private parking lots, the Polsky parking deck, and one or two officce buildings. There's just nothing to tear down that would make room for an arena.
  7. They can't sell beer there because the stairs don't have hand railings.
  8. He voted Akron at #25 last week.

  10. I don't think you've ever seen Akron play.
  11. The rankings are supposed to be about how teams are playing currently. So a team that won big early but has lost some games recently should not have a high ranking compared to a team that lost early but has won everything since then. We're red-hot right now. We're the first MAC team to start 10-0 in 30 years. Even the Elite-Eight Can't team and the Wally Szczerbiak Miami teams couldn't do that.
  12. Err... yes. I had programming on the mind and started counting at zero.
  13. That's worth four votes, right?
  14. If they really wanted to be successful, they need to find a way to partner with the NFL to become a developmental league.
  15. That was what sparked the change to give additional weight (120%) to road wins and less to home wins (80%) in the RPI. Ther MVC figured out that since a road win and home win counted the same, and that they all played each other, they could feast on a bunch of cupcakes and mid-level midmajors at home, then count on playing each other to boost their RPI, because it meant that they would be playing a bunch of conference teams with huge win totals. This was also the formula that the major conferences had been using for years. It was perfectly fine then, but as soon as the MVC crashed the party, they had to change things up.
  16. Big announcement tomorrow, apparently. Will the RB get a dome? Will it then re-named the Con-dome? Stay tuned.
  17. Our non-conference schedule was terrible that year. This year, we have a top-50 non-conference strength of schedule.
  18. Look at the forecast by final record.. We have to win out the regular season, but that would do it.
  19. RPIforecast.com says that if we win out, our RPI should be around 27. Add a win in the MAC semis and it would probably move up a few spots to 24 or 25. A loss in the championship game to top-100 Ohio puts us back to 30 at the very worst. An RPI of 30 is well within the at-large range. Safely within the bubble. We would also have a 23-game win streak, and likely be ranked heading into the MAC championship game. If anybody thinks there's not a possibility to get an at-large, they're purposefully ignoring the math. We 100% control our own destiny.
  20. Haven't heard a thing.
  21. First, we didn't play Indiana. Second, UCF won 10 games. They were the best non-conference opponent on our schedule, by far. You said we would have lost to Kansas by four touchdowns. That's 28 points. We only lost to two teams all year by more than that amount: UCF and NIU, both of which had double-digit win totals last season. We lost to Tennessee by 21 points, and Tennessee would have blown out 1-win Kansas by at least as much. Outside of Morgan State and maybe UMass, everybody on our schedule would have demolished Kansas. But somehow you think Kansas would have beaten us by a greater margin than all but two of them had beat us by. You must be a huge Charlie Weis fan to believe that the game wouldn't be competitive.
  22. If we win out the regular season, our RPi will be around 28. That's in the at-large range. If we only lose at Ohio, it will be around 35. Still a good shot there.
  23. The best possible scenario would be for the MAC to go 12-0 in the Bracketbuster.
  24. Doesn't look like it.
  25. Man, what an ugly style of play. I hope the Zips don't get bored to death when facing them. The best way to deal with how they play is to create turnovers in transition (a.k.a. full-court press). EMU holds on to the ball until the last second before taking their shots, so you don't want to allow them to get set on offense. We also need a big shooting night from our wing players.
