  1. It will not appear in the 2010 game. The reason it won't appear is because EA can't render the stadium model without having actual hi-res photographs of the site. They can't do that until construction is complete.
  2. Can't's most prominent pot-head set to skip minicampIf the Browns need a new kick returner, Williams is the man to go to.
  3. I've been looking into our options as far as changing conferences would go for Soccer. There are only three geographical conferences that we could join realistically while keeping our increasing our program's prestige. The Big Ten: They only have 7 teams, the same as the MAC. All 7 teams are full-time conference members, unlike the MAC with Hartwick and FAU. I seriously doubt that they would accept us, since the Big Ten doesn't have any single-sport members at all. You're either in the Big Ten for everything or you aren't.The Big East: All 16 Big East basketball schools have a men's soccer program. Presumably it's considered a mandatory sport. As much as I would love to see us dominate them, there's really no room.C-USA: Here's our best chance. They have 9 teams, three of which are in for soccer-only, Kentucky, FIU, and South Carolina. Tulsa was ranked last year, and the conference has had at-large bids awarded to several teams in the past. The few fans I have asked seem open to adding us.While the MAC is bending over backwards trying to accomadate us by adding any team they can find, the situation is unstable. If even one school drops the sport to save money we'll be in a pretty bad situation.
  4. Rivals BioHe's a a 6'3" 258lb JUCO DE that the Zips have offered.
  5. From GoZips.com stadium facts:Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Compliance: InfoCision Stadium will be in compliance with federal ADA laws by providing handicapped accessible seating (300 for handicapped access and guest), ramps, elevators, rest room facilities, concessions and parking areas throughout the facility.Looks like you're covered.
  6. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/177773-...-lemonade-standThe former Zips QB is showing them how it's done.
  7. No news is good news, I guess? maybe we're just tired of having the same exact conversation every year, just about a different player. What ever happened to David Harvey?
  8. He still has a job in the NFL after 5 years. That's impressive for any UDFA.
  9. Gaining national exposure will always be up to the fans. We need to not only be excited about the Zips, but we need to show that in every way possible. No amount of marketing can match a bunch of excited fans letting everyone know how excited they are. Excitement is contagious. Commercials are not.Remember when we all decided to start commenting on Zips stories at Ohio.com? Look how much our coverage has improved since then. They saw that people cared about the Zips, and reacted accordingly. I think we can do the same thing on a much larger scale. Comment on ESPN stories, create a presence on our opponents' message boards with some friendly smack or even just useful information for the opposing fans who are less informed about us. Brag about our stadium to Indiana's fans. Any time you think something on a website like ESPN or Foxsports.com or Scout or other high-traffic websites relates to the Zips, don't hesitate to speak up and post something. It's grassroots, and if done properly it can pull other Zips fans out of the woodwork and maybe create some new ones in the process. But we have to be loud, be relentless, and show the world that we exist and that we care about the Zips.I just left a comment on ESPN's conversation for the Akron-PSU game leaving a little information for the primarily PSU fans that are doing what I just described. Same with our Foxsports home page. I occasionally put something on our empty Scout site. It's lonely out there, beyond the confines of Zipsnation. I come here to converse with knowledged Zips fans in a civilized and educated manner. We've debated everything under the sun about our school and its sports here, but there's a whole world out there who has no idea about us or that the Zips have any fans whatsoever.
  10. It's like he took what we all were thinking and put it together in an organized format.
  11. Media Release for 2009 signing class.Coach Brookhart's press conferenceHe's listed there as having signed his LOI. I can't find anything about him qualifying or not, though.
  12. Henderson was the guy that we're taking a chance with in hopes of a big payoff. High risk/reward. I'm hoping that he pays off.Only two true freshmen are listed on the roster: Will Fleming and Joe Pachuta, who I think were both greyshirts last year.
  13. The MAC East would be a reasonable measure of success. It gets us a bowl spot, and gives us a chance to win the MAC title.Another indicator of success would be a winning non-conference record. Sure we'll beat Morgan State, but I fully expect to beat Syracuse as well, and Indiana is a toss-up.Another thing would be beating Buffalo and Temple. We haven't won against either of those two teams since 2006. That's pathetic.
  14. Both Harris and Montgomery failed at being head coaches at their last jobs. Also, Harris appears to be here primarily because of his connection with JD. I am curious how JD managed to pull in Okruch (pronounced "Oh-crew", which makes me want to call him "The O-Crew"), though.
  15. A whole day, huh?Fine... why not 118 days earlier?
  16. Congratulations to the Men and Women Zips teams who both won MAC championships earlier today.
  17. http://cfn.scout.com/2/865282.htmlI'm honestly shocked how positive this preview seems. Maybe I was too jaded after watching the past few seasons to see how close this team really was to being good. We were so close to a 9-win season, with just a few mental lapses standing in our way. We were also extremely close to being completely terrible, needing two OTs to beat Can't and a miracle to beat EMU.
  18. I also voted for Okruch. While I believe that coach harris will improve our QB position quite a bit, and that coach Montgomery will run an efficient offense, those weren't exactly problems last year when compared to the defense. We were completely abysmal when it came to getting pressure on the QB or even getting beyond the LOS in any capacity.
  19. I don't know, but hopefully the position will be filled soon. Coach Dambrot has a history of hiring great assistants, and I trust that he'll continue to do so.
  20. The pre-trial for the Morrison house was supposed to be today, but it has been delayed thanks to Morrison Jr.'s lawyer. It probably won't begin again until the end of the year.
  21. A whole day, huh?Any earlier and this city's overly geriatric population would forget about it. Any later and there isn't enough time to let the message sink in.
  22. What I want to see... I want to see:1. A tailgating environment at least comparable to what we had at the Rubber Bowl. I realize that it will be more segmented instead of being all on one large field, but tailgating is essential to the college football experience.2. Close off Spicer to create a party/tailgate area.3. If anyone remembers the Patriot Bowl game against Army, there was a large grass area that was transformed into a festival ground. Coleman Commons could serve that purpose for us, with the inflatable Zippy and all the kiddie games being there.4. I want to see more dining options in the area around the stadium and downtown. Skyway opening up right behind the stadium on Exchange is a good start, but it's only one place. I have a feeling that once people figure out how much foot traffic the stadium will bring, they will want to build there.5. A winning season. It's been four years.6. A comprehensive parking plan, published in the Beacon Journal a day before the opening game to avoid too much traffic confusion.7. Memorial Hall being torn down and a shiny new academic building put in its place, incorperating the actual marble slabs that make up the memorial into the design.8. Something that relates our Heisman connection. The Rubber Bowl had the Heisman lodge. Infocision needs a Heisman suite or an Heisman terrace (perhaps the top of the endzone facility?)
  23. The way I understand it, this affects their current recruiting class (2009). Unless they screw up again and lose more scholarships, which might actually happen since a few more guys are leaving the program, they'll still have all their scholarships for the 2010 class.
  24. Nothing is final until the LOIs are signed. Wait about three months and then we'll see what the real deal is shaping up to be.
  25. Want to bet that we're the team not playing beyond the first round this year, just like we couldn't play in the actual Legends Classic tournament last year?
