  1. Yes. That is a VERY important fact. :screwks:Anyway, I hope your club team gets all the support they need. Having a club team is a huge step towards improving a school's varsity team.
  2. Who are you playing?
  3. Blue & Gold,Try uploading your photos to the Gallery here. You'll need to click on the Gallery Tab above, and create your own gallery. Then once they're uploaded, you can link to them using the "insert image" link above that's 2 to the right of the smiley pulldown. You could also upload to any other free gallery like Flickr or whatever and link to them that way.Hope this helps,ZWWow, I'm an idiot. Once I click the Gallery tab and am in the Gallery, I just don't see how to make my own Gallery. Thanks for the help. I took my camera today specifically because I wanted to post some pictures on here.I would definitely suggest using Flickr or Photobucket or something along that line, then.
  4. Looks like we're going back to an Offense vs Defense format thanks to all the injuries limiting the teams depth.Tom Gaffney's article on the gameElton Alexander's article on the activities tomorrowCan't wait for the tour of the stadium.
  5. In a loud, uncontrolled enviroment high compression audio actually sounds better than high quality audio which comes across as too soft and easily lost in the background noise. If everybody was wearing studio headphones then mp3's and DVDs would be more preferable.
  6. You don't think Akron knew in advance that USD wouldn't count toward bowl eligibility and weighed all the consequences of this deal until the MAC showed up like some kind of scheduling savior? Come on. JD/Mack had to have known exactly what they were getting into. Maybe they had full confidence that we would get to a bowl even with this game.
  7. How does Calipari going to UK affect this?
  8. I haven't heard much recently about how our graduated seniors are doing.I do know that Andrew Johnson's stock is rising based on his incredible speed. The Colts are showing interest in him because of it. It was unfortunate how his senior season turned out with the injury, but I hope he does well.
  9. It cost us the home opener being against Indiana.
  10. http://www.volanteonline.com/sports/footba...-game-1.1637030 Some interesting information. Once again, the MAC is meddling in the affairs of their teams non-conference schedules even as they can't figure out their own schedule.
  11. The C-USA is a dying conference. It would be a disaster to move to them for any sport except for Soccer.Memphis just lost their coach and their fans believe that without him they have no hope for the future of their team, which means that the C-USA is without hope as a conference in basketball. In football, the MAC has every single one of its bowl games against BCS teams (the GMAC just replaced the C-USA with the ACC) while C-USA is so desperate that they are considering making a new bowl to play against a Sun Belt also-ran.The MAC is in better shape right now and the trends suggest that it will be for quite some time.
  12. I only want one tradition. A winning tradition. Everything else is just fluff.
  13. Yes. That's why they're making this case as high profile as they can. If they do lose and the BCS retaliates in some way everyone will see it.
  14. I would like to see all the non-BCS conferences go all in on this. Go for broke and put all your weight behind taking down the BCS. If you win, awesome. If not, what could you lose?
  15. The team still plays at the JAR every day, minus the coaching and support staff. It's just the players pushing themselves further on their own. Maybe he could play a pick-up game with them or something. I don't know the rules regarding what they can and can't do.
  16. Most of the things we complain about have nothing to do with the JAR as a physical building. It's not old and non-functional like Memorial Hall. Two of the biggest problems that I am aware of (I don't know too much about the locker rooms or the athletic offices) are the sight lines and the bleachers, and both of those could be fixed by installing chair-back seats on both sides of the upper deck. I think that we could leave the upper end seating where the students sit as bleachers to save some of the cost and also to define an actual "student section" instead of having them spread around general admission. The majority of the problems that we tend to complain about are not the result of the JAR's shortcomings. The concessions are largely unoptimized and remind me of high school games I attended in the 90s. They need to install at least one cash register per window, and OPEN UP MORE WINDOWS! They did catch on later in the season when they opened up the third window run by that guy who wears a tie all the time (maybe a manager? He was better at customer service, too), but it was clear that he was working out of a storage room. I'm not sure what people want out of the Tommy Evans lounge, unless you would propose removing some bleachers and extending it out to arena, and then building luxury suites right above it. It could be like a restaurant with a view to the game. The only problem would be that we would lose quite a bit of attendance capacity, but obviously we don't need it and if it fills up quicker the push for a new arena happens quicker as well. The fireworks during the starting lineup are nice, but please open some windows to let the sulfur fumes escape. I guarantee that everyone in the building has a mild headache by halftime because of that. The problems with the stat boards? I have no idea where these people learned math, but I could do a better job with a pocket calculator and filling the stats in manually. Shooting 3 of 17 is NOT 50%.That's really all I can think of for the athletic facility side of the JAR. Having classes in the dungeon below the north bleachers is a different issue altogether.
  17. Jalil Carter is the next big star on defense. We won't see much of Matt Rodgers outside of the Morgan State game, I think.
  18. Central Hower is not a school anymore....Is that building even in use anymore? It most certainly a school. Currently it houses the entirety of East High School while renovations are completed, and in the future it will see more relocated HS students from around the city. Central Hower will not be empty for many years.
  19. I like having the Chapel right there. They're very active on campus and with students, and the University is better off because of them.If we're going to try to buy any properties around campus, I would prefer it to be the plasma center or something else like that along Exchange.
  20. From what I have seen, OSU plays Toledo at Cleveland Browns Stadium on the 19th. That means that the original home opener (and inaugural game) would have been competing against OSU. Now the home opener competes against the USC vs. OSU game that is at 8 pm. So I would expect that we will play Morgan St. at high noon so as not to compete in anyway for viewers. In fact the reason the Kentucky game was originally on the 12th was so that our openning was in no way in the shadow of OSU being in Cleveland. After looking at the schedules again, you're right. Still, this is terrible. I would've rather had Wyoming come here than see Carlton Jackson fumble the ball twenty times. We'll be lucky to sell out any game other then Can't with this schedule . No-name to open the season, if anybody wanted to see a Big Ten school on the 19th they can drive up to Cleveland, Ohio will be a decent crowd but not a sellout, and Temple and EMU are in November on Fridays.
  21. This is horrible. Don't you guys realize that it's on the same date that OSU will be playing in Cleveland? Any "Joe Akron" with interest in college football will be heading 45 minutes north.
  22. It's hard to learn anything on scout team.Exactly. It's a world of difference between playing on the scout team in practice when you know there's no way you'll even dress for a game the whole season to suddenly trying to compete with the starters.
  23. You could probably buy a house for less than a years rent right now.
  24. I don't know how good they are but it would give us a game under our belt before IU. I think we'll probably open with an FCS team at home most years from now on.We already have a game under our belt before IU. Or does playing at Penn State not count?
