  1. Winds from the NE at 18 mph gusting to 28 mph per weather.com
  2. Weather report: Akron - 37 and Cloudy; Evanston 35 and Snowy
  3. It's a beautiful campus...it better be for what they charge to go there
  4. So let me get this straight..they cancel the game in Akron because of the field conditions (something that the NCAA cannot predict 4 days out) in favor of a game in Evanston where the field conditions may end up being no better because of the weather (something that IS predictable 4 days out).
  5. Nice contributions all around. We know attendance will get a boost simply from the new stadium. Winning is what will make that boost last. There will be an extraordinary amount of pressure to win next year because of that.
  6. Thanks for the updates. Nailbiter is not what we want in the first game. Any word on the size of the crowd?
  7. Another fort, just not a military one...Fort Wayne, IN. It is the other Summit City though.

    BG Photos

STUPID DEATH AKRON FANS. its won. BG BG BG BG!Well as you see I would be, this game is the greatest of the football on ESPN since September when me and I sat and volleyed right when Michael Francis hit that game winning home run to beat the ZipsFriggin' Spam
  9. I don't know about the seat, but if anyone could go take an electronic photo of the doorless bathroom stall in the mens room of the pressbox side and get it to me, it would be greatly appreciated.Upstairs (outside) or the one below the seats? Please make sure that it is vacant when you snap the photo.
  10. Where's ZipnDots?! The first signature line ZipnDots had was a pretty fierce Zippy!
  11. Until we get to the point where we don't need a "yell leader" to get our fans going, I'm fine with the mic on the field. Notice also that there's a BG thread where a lot of people support the idea for their own games.More Bird Droppings
  12. Don't forget the high snaps! That needs to stop.
  13. Well the announcers knew the players names and the cameramen could identify our head coach. That's a step up from the ESPN Classic Broadcast of the UA/Army game. The announcers were good-knew the players, coaches, stats, and history of the programs and the MAC. Sometimes the camera work was shaky or out of focus. BTW, how was the crowd? The cheers came through on TV when UA made a big play. Go Zips!
  14. I was watching it on ESPN Gameplan. They showed a gazillion replays. It was most certainly a catch. Though the catch didn't win the game; Igor's FG won the game...along with Reed's shank. Go Zips!
  15. There's not much I can add about the game that hasn't already been said. I will say that the game day experience was awesome. Everyone in my group, none of whom are Akron alums and none of whom had ever been to a game at the RB, had a blast at the tailgate and got to experience a good ball game. I also heard that attendance was 17,000 (sure, many UC fans added to that number). Nice send-off for the RB and I can't wait until 9/19/09! Everyone I brought to the game had a good time and plans on returning with me - that's what the new stadium and the direction this program is in is all about.Go Zips!
  16. Speaking of injuries...What's up with Bain?! Did anyone see Rasor's blog on this:"By the way, I have heard from multiple sources that Ryan Bain's problems are with the NCAA, not the foot. The reports I heard are conflicting as to the cause.I asked assistant athletic director Mike Cawood whether it was related to grades. He responded (and I quote): "I have not been told he is academically ineligible." I hate to speculate beyond that. My point is, don't expect to see him in uniform this season, or maybe ever.Putting Bain on the injured list, however, is misleading. The coaches are being less than forthcoming about this. Hopefully it will get cleared up soon."
  17. I noticed the coach mix-up, too. Nice research, fellas.
  18. :puke: :puke: 3 Interceptions for Baker ?!
