Two questions, who won, and was it over?
Sounds funny when it's not YOUR team. Frenchy & Stams still get my vote.

Just curious Lee, what's your solution.

As it is, finding another team willing to accept football membership only will be next to impossible so the Big East will continue to be a league that is rumored to be in transition because of the scheduling problems its current make-up presents. From a Q & A in the Post GazetteIf the Big East eventually does go to a 12 team league all around, they'll have some big decisions to make with the likes of Georgetown, 'Nova, Marquette, etc.
Speaking of Marshall, their move seems to be working really well for them.I miss them being in the MAC, I really liked those gamesI'd throw UCF into the mix as well, but the other ex-MAC school, Marshall, could suffer the same fate as Miami (WVU would probably try to prevent it). -
Looks like a young Frank Stams.Looks good. -
Name a coach at Akron that has "padded" their resume here and moved on.I got hammered on this site for saying that Rhoades/Brookhart are only here to pad there resumes and move on. -
-
Mack Rhoades has thrown his name in the hat for the AD job at Pitt.

Might be easier to list the freshman that have played this year. Then you can assume the rest would red shirt, that is, unless they play yet this year.Is there a list that shows who has been redshirted this season? If not, does anyone know which players have been redshirted? -
Vince PapaleWe've got a throw-back to the old NFL days in Mackey. Which is he more like Larry Wilson or Ray Nitchke? -
Since we are on a buy week and discussion is somewhat slow...have you guys (people not actually on campus often) seen this ?!?
One of the largest wall banners ever hoisted in Ohio adorns the east side of the Stile Athletics Field House. The Roo Town banner is 12,500 square feet and visible from more than two miles away. Made of a polymer mesh and weighing in at a whopping three quarters of a ton, the sign is secured to the building’s support beams with stainless steel brackets and aircraft cabling. Repros Inc. of Cleveland said the banner is the largest it has made and one of the most complex, requiring two days for a com! plete installation. Thanks to special UV-resistant inks, however, the banner will last for several years. That's pretty impressive !

Good scoop, but how did you obtain the photo? Looks like coach is growing. The info for my post was obtained from interviews with people who've seen him play, not from any web sites. -
I will believe when I know his signature is on the dotted line. Too many times, I have heard or knew players that had verbally committed to this school or that school, and by the time it came for signings, another school has swooped in , promising the moon and the player committs to that school.

And in this photo Rogers isn't looking at coach. Doesn't mean anything. Although....Which one of these guys in this photo just got done with a big thanksgiving meal right before practice? And is coach using golf scorecards to right his plays on? Maybe this is our problem? Put away the 5W and bring out the driver coach! And what is CJ7 writing on his wrist bands (new 50 cent lyrics),and why is his finger wrapped? These photos pose so many questions.Rogers is standing straight, listening and the CJs don't seem to be paying attention. -
I think we blitz 8% of the time. I like a defense that puts pressure on the QB. I don't give a sh*t what you call it.New Mexico has been running the 3-3-5 for about 10 years now and it had greatly benefited the lobos. For this scheme to run effectively you have to have quick D-linemen and fast linebakers. I don't think there is a D in the nation that runs it as complex as the lobos, our LB and DB usually blitz around 80% of the time and is real fun to watch! -
Me either!!!! I skip right over any poster doing so. How many years before this stops here? The simple answer to the posted question is "no"A better question would be, what can JD do to get fired in the next three years, because economically nothing he does in the next two will get him fired. The haters should root for him to succeed and move on, that is the only way he is leaving soon. This has got to be my last comment on this subject for a month. I'm done.I really don't like comparing the two regimes. -
You ask for the last big upset, I give it to you. That's all I know man.

Way back in October of 2006.Upsets happen. However, this is ridiculous. We lose games every year that we should win. When have we beaten anyone that we were large underdogs to? I think Marshall was the last time....Pretty sad. IMHO -
False start - any player moves after they have gotten in their set position before the snap in a way that simulates the start of the play.Illegal motion - a player in motion is moving forward at the time of the snap. I haven't seen any advantage to doing this. Seems like it causes more confusion to me.Besides .. isn't it a false start or "multiple men in motion" each time they do this? -
Where does this calling the play from the sideline originate from?Is this Moorehead's idea?

I'm with you, give me FB in that situation. Odd side night, I went to Jason Taylor's game yesterday. His team does the same thing Akron does with third and short. Amazingly it worked on every occasion without passing once.3rd and short and we line up in the spread, with four wideouts and a single back? What happened to an "I" formation with two tight ends??!! -
Zips not as sharp this week. Spend too much time watching ESPN's top plays this week.Squeak by with a win 24-20. Trap game (I hear that 50 times a week now on ESPN so I'll say it)Weather will provide us some good tailgating
-
Western Michigan also sent tape to the MAC of Akron's previous touchdown. The video showed the Zips' left guard and left tackle moving before the football was snapped, which is a false-start penalty under the rules.Complaining about a false start? You have GOT to be kidding me.
Did the Zips hold at any time during the game? Better get some tape of that too. While your at it, I'm sure somebody had their shirt untucked. I lost a lot of respect for WMU.

I think you can get pressure on the QB with a good scheme. Look at the Steelers. There is no one particular "pass rusher"on that team. They get good pressure on the QB by overloading. With the talent in Akron's secondary, I don't see why we can't accomplish the same thing. When Akron has tried to send more than the O-line can block this year, their spacing and timing seem awful.I think the blitz package needs some serious help regardless of 3-3-5, 3-4 or 4-3.If you aren't getting pressure on the QB, you likely just do not have good pass rushers.
