  1. This is a great article! Having met Zeke personally a few months back on his tour of the residence halls, I know he will be a great asset to our team and our university.
  2. All this talk about money, what is the cheapest way to get tickets for a current akron student to the game? should I just go through the akron ticket office?
  3. how long will this take to be completed?
  4. Any thoughts on Cleveland picking up Shaq? How great for recruiting would it be if we could get LeBron and Shaq on campus. It will be a good project for the new AD haha.
  5. I for one am very pleased with the decision. To sell alcohol anywhere other than the selected areas would be a large liability to the university and just not very classy for a college event. Go Zips!
  6. when I was mad about the NCAA screwing the soccer team this fall I was looking for information and stumbled upon ZNO.
  7. They should not allow alcohol in the stadium. It is a college football stadium and the biggest issue we have on college campuses is underage drinking. It just wouldn't be very classy to allow alcohol in the stadium.
  8. the Akropolis is pretty great.
  9. I like The Brick House, then they can play Brick House by The Commodores. That would be pretty entertaining.
  10. "The Pouch" ??? are you serious? I mean, I realize Zippy is a female kangaroo, but why would we nickname our stadium after a flap of skin which according to wikipedia: "covers the nipples to protect the joey as it continues to develop." ?I agree, that The Info isn't the greatest either, but its the best natural abbreviation. If you want to develop a nickname other than that, your best bet is to consider things that are unique about the stadium or akron and go from there. I mean, The Polymer Palace may not be the most intimidating, but start thinking along those lines...what does akron/the stadium have that is only around here.
  11. First of all, I just went on zipline and don't see the survey you are talking about. Secondly, a lot of students will go to the first game or two just due to the excitement of the new facility, but what it all boils down to is wins. The soccer team has extremely loyal support, because they win. The football team is going to have to have a good season to give students a reason to want to go to the football games. You can talk about surveys or polls or whatever you want, but you really won't know how the long term student turnout will be until the season starts. Whether the football stadium is in the students "backyard" or not, students won't be interested in going to watch crappy football.
  12. A number of those spaces are taken by students living in on-campus housing.
  13. A little media never hurts:Next Year
  14. There were a few thousand people at the home opener this year. A lot of people like to sit up on the hill though; not in the bleachers. I imagine there will be a huge turnout when we play the Columbus Crew in April.
