Rob Ianello was supposed to be a pretty great recruiter too. What does WMU have now? What did they REALLY achieve this season? WMU won nothing of significance and now they have nothing. As Akron natives Andre Knott and Zac Jackson would say..."Congrat"

If WMU achieved nothing this season, the MAC should disband immediately and all member schools drop football altogether.  The Broncos enjoyed arguably the best season of all time.  The odds are incredibly slim that Akron will ever experience a season like the 2016 Western Michigan Broncos.  That's nothing?  That is how far out of whack this country is that as a fan, if a team doesn't win it all as absolute undisputed champion that it doesn't mean crap while we give everyone coming up a trophy for outstanding participation.

Unbelievable.  Pooh poohing a 13-1 season.

You can't be serious.  Really?  Each promotion is as lazy as the other...oh and basically their the same year in year out.  No creativity, No newness.  Just what in the hell are people supposed to get excited for?  Just what in the hell are people going to go to an AKRON game for?  I graduated 4 years ago.  The "I'm a loyal student fan" has definitely worn off.  The "I want to be a loyal alumni" is constantly being tested  the poor decisions of people running my alma mater, and the lack of effort in just about everything they do publicly.

But you act like I haven't offered any solutions.  I have.  Many times.  But I can't pretend to know the answers, but I do know the people they should search out.

Oh Teddy, my favorite man of American History.  Truly a unique one.  Segway aside:  look, I don't need to suggest a solution.  I'm in no position of power with the University of Akron, and my influence as student no longer exists.  I have suggested tons of possible solutions, but at the end of the day it's not my job.  It's the people who don't give enough of a damn at the University to figure out.  By saying I'm whining, I take it you're defending their half-assed lazy attempts at marketing?  Like seriously...in that Ad posted in earlier posts, tell me just who in the hell is going to look at that and buy tickets?  Who!?

The first step to solving a problem is acknowledging that there is one.  Second step is seeking solutions.  Dear lord, by the mere suggestion that maybe advertising at UA could improve, and it seems incredibly lazy, there are certainly a lot of people here willing to step up and defend it.  Good lord.  Good luck getting new people to come to the toilet bowl called the JAR with that approach.

Probably because he doesn't look like a D1 scholarship player. Too short and pudgy and too damn slow. He gets blown off the ball in the first running play. He isn't Cody Grice. Cody was nasty.

Cody was nasty but he was nice and nasty not mean and nasty but really nasty nonetheless.  CG will be remembered for a long time around here.

The "excuse" is that actual numbers were used mostly this season. Keener, you heard in another thread from a recruit that Akron has a "great" fan base. Does that really count? I suspect about a 20% increase next season that includes "paid for" attendance.

Serious question, don't you guys get tired of regurgitating the same stuff on this garbage over and over?

Who do you think is the Regurgitation King?

  5. Hey, didn't we just hear in another thread that Akron had a great fan base?  And I was questioned why I posted the head scratch pic. . .

Only Florida Atlantic, New Mexico State and Ball State had worse numbers than Akron.  Yikes.  FAU will be up next year with a Lane Kiffin bounce.  NM State will still blow.  Doug Martin is still the coach, right?  Ball State mystifies me.  There are a helluva lot more people than 7,789 tailgating in Muncie.

Next year will be (marginally) better.  Kent and Ohio at home.

Mötley Crüe wrote a song back in 1989 about Akron attendance:

You guys should know well enough that high TE usage is not a product of our offense. Comparing the usage to a pro style offense like Wisconsin's is ridiculous. Where has the complaining been every other year...especially the Dalton Williams year that everyone loves bringing up? Do yourselves a favor and look at WVU, OK St, Wazzu, and TX Tech's TE usage and come back to me. Those are the offensive systems ours is modeled after.

Actually I'll save you guys the time and just let you know that they are all very similar to ours. I get it...you are disappointed with the season and want to find anything you can to complain about. I get it....we have supposed talent at the position. So much talent that the player and all his stars and offers had to switch positions to get playing time. The fact that the coaching staff found ways to get creative with him, successfully I might add, should be praised.

Whoa now, hold up for a second there.  You know and I know that if you are running the Air Raid the TE isn't going to get much use.  That's because in the Air Raid there aren't any on the field.  Hell, Washington State and Texas Tech don't even have a TE on the roster.  I don't think you can really say we are running the Air Raid anymore.  We are trying to run some variation of the Baylor offense and don't have the personnel to run it.  When Dalton Williams was here in 2012 we didn't see any TE's on the field and now we have a TE on the field for half of the plays we run.  Most of the time, they never even run a route.  They are just there to be an extra blocker.

That's why I knew when everyone was going ga-ga over MTB switching to TE and winning his award and all that jazz that happened in summer camp and how great it was going to be was nothing a bunch of malarkey.  We had a bonafide stud of a TE here in 2015 that didn't do diddly-squat for crying out loud.

Using MTB in short yardage was great.  I applaud the staff for utilizing him in that manner, but to say that his success in that role means that we utilize the TE position well is like applauding Cody Grice's DT play because he got a lot of first downs.
