Never to early to start thing about next year. First step is Spring Practice - what do you guys think? How many players will be participating. From everything that happened this year and from everything I have heard - I'd say about 50.

Rather than to say "I told you so" regarding exit from the list, lets just say............ The bottom ten is is a particularly valuable resource for the Zips. We should be making every effort to schedule Memphis, New Mexico, New Mexico State, San Jose State, UNLV and Western Kentucky for football games. I am sure Memphis, UNLV, etal are saying the same thing. I can hear their respective ADs talking in a meeting "Let's schedule Akron!! Heck - Gardner Webb beat em and they lost 55-3 to Stonybrook!!" "Who the hell is Stony Brook" "I don't know - but make sure we schedule Akron - not that powerhouse Stony Brook!!"

So let me get this straight - you are comparing a legendary coach like Joe Pa from a proven Big Ten power going to a recruits house to Coach Ianello from the worst team in the worst conference with no head coaching experience who never won a game - and the recruit is going to overlook the wierd things about him because...... wait..... I forget...... why are they going to overlook this???

I'd rather misspell one word than 90% of them. Btw, went to the game Saturday, when are they going to renovate that dump of a stadium? Oh they already have....twice? Wow. A great stadium is useless if you put crap in it - it's like having a Cadillac and putting a 5hp go cart engine in it. Or building a mansion around a moldy pile of turd, looks great outside looking in but there is still crap inside.

It has been said the the person has been banned from OU sporting activities. In reality, he is transferring to Can't cuz of his tackling ability. (Can't beat out Akron for this highly touted MAC recruit).

Not even a media guide - they call it a media supplement. Going into the second game of the year and no full fledged media guide. Every D2/D3 school that has players that I know playing for them have media guides - every D1 website i was on have full media guides. Akron-nada!!

I think the ESPN times come from the SPARQ Combines that they hold and are laser times - not sure where Rivals obtains their stats. Heres hoping that he's closer to 4.47 than the 4.86!!!

ESPN recruiting site had him down with 40 time of 4.86 and no other offers - wonder why the Zips are so high on him??

Are any of the practices open to the public? If so, do they post the practice times anywhere - would like to be able to attend a couple to see how they look.

From what I know Billy Harmon will be a walk on at the University of Akron. He was 1st team All District and 2nd team All State at Linebacker. However, I believe his value to Akron will be at the Fullback position. At 6' 235 lbs he packs a wallop and has more than adequate speed and quickness for the FB position. He played FB as a Junior but played LB almost exclusively his senor year (his junior highlights on scoutingohio.com show some of his fullback highlights)
