  2. Cumulative season stats: we are seventh in country for goals against at 0.58/game and eight in scoring at 2.16/game. Given our current RPI and looking at our results its too bad we could not have scored more consistently on a game to game basis.
  3. This was the best case scenario...still lots could happen.
  4. In six previous Big 10 games this season Penn State was 0-6 and they lost 5 games by 1-0 and the sixth 2-1. So they have doubled their scoring output in a bit over a half.
  5. If you want to see the best possible outcomes for the ZIPS I have listed some of the results that need to happen:Marshall over SMUMichigan State over IndianaMichigan over WisconsinOhio State over Penn StateUConn over LouisvilleVillanova over St JohnsUC Riverside over UC IrvineUC Davis over UCSB I will try and list more as I find them. Apparently I have too much free time
  6. I totally agree. Other RPI negative is the low RPI of the MAC except for us and NIU. They also dropped their RPI from 24 to 31 over the past two polls. Apparently the NCAA has "leeway" in that they don't ONLY use the RPI for seeding exclusively but it remains the most important part by far. All we can hope is that we come away with another MAC title and that some of the teams ahead of us lose in their respective conference tournaments. This will certainly be a crazy college soccer weekend. GO ZIPS
  7. I agree so long as it is a competitive program.
  8. " He was named a team captain two weeks ago, joining Chad Barson and Scott Caldwell." Wasn't there some debate on whether he was a catain?? He is now.yeah I knew there was an armband floating around the team. Maybe some trial thing? Mattocks had it one week, Meves had it one week, even Gallego had it one week if I remember correctly. Then a few games ago Mattocks was introduced as a captain. Porter is really high on Mattocks, at the end of one of the post-game interviews he said "and really, Darren Mattocks is the reason we're winning games right now." I think he has one goal in the last 3 games
  9. UNC now up 4-0.
  10. Maybe you didn't understand what I posted. The Men's Soccer team CAN NOT leave the MAC unless the MAC stops sponsoring Men's Soccer. Thanks my prior post was in response to that of the tank
  11. That's not what I meant. My question is whether just the mens soccer team could leave the MAC for another soccer conference.
  12. I was talking about whether or not Akron could leave the MAC for soccer only and join a more competitive conference.
  13. Since this is my first year being associated with Akron I am interested in whether or not the issue of leaving the MAC has ever been seriously looked at. I don't know if this could be done for soccer only but it seems to me that the MAC as a soccer conference leaves much to be desired. Any thoughts?
  14. The formula for figuring this all out is quite complex especially when they factor in the bonuses and penalties. Good thing is that when you have multiple teams from same conference ahead of you some have to lose in their conference tournaments. Looks like I will be more of a scoreboard watcher over the next week (if that is possible).
  15. The latest RPi which was just posted tempers the rankings ALOT. Unfortunately we are at #21 If we hope to even get a first round bye we better win this weekend and hope some of the teams ahead of us stumble. If not,it's gonna be tough.
  16. odd that Zips would not be playing in the second game don't you think?
  17. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...05&output=html link to RPI rankings
  18. We better be really careful not to blow it next weekend. The guy on Big Soccer who keeps track of the RPI currently has us at #16. NIU has RPI of 24. That game is a MUST WIN.
  19. How about Louisville.
  20. One down 7 to go
  21. Must just about be over Anyone know whats going on?
  22. I think GT went into hibernation again
  23. GOL GOL GOL Mattocks
