I have stayed off the boards for the summer,,but cant stop Laughing now when I read about Moore Leaving,hahahah Everyone on Zipsnation was all over The Lone Ranger,,,how great he is and how bad Nicely was,,,so now the great Clayton has rode off,,,WOW, Why isnt everyone bashing Bowden for running of the great savior Mr Moore !!!!,,I live in texas,,and have seen Williams play, He COULDNT handle things at SFA a 1AA,,,,and got beat out,,but NOW,is the starter for a d1???? He must have some good dirt on Coach Bowden.. Its going to be another LOOOOOONG season in Akron..and I think you will find the only thing Bowden is good at is EATING,,,,Just because your DAD is a great Coach doesnt mean as a son that YOUR A GREAT COACH ALSO,,,,

NOW you all see why Dalton Williams COULDNT start at his old 1AA, to bad Bowden is playing the good ole boy still and gave him a scholarship because hes friends with one of Bowdens old Grad Assistants. One good thing, the smartest QB was NICELY,,he bailed from our sinking ship after you all threw him under the bus SO MANY TIMES. He WON more games then any other qb on the roster and BOWDEN had the nerve to put him at 4th string. Cant wait to see how this season plays out,,,you have lost my respect Coach Bowden

I LIVE in TEXAS and have seen SFA play ,,,where Dalton Williams came from,,That guy was a joke,,he COULDNT even start at his 1AA school,,and now because of a friend of his who knows Bowden, he gets an offer to a D1 and in 2 weeks almost has the #1 spot. Looks like Coach Bowden is playing some politics,,and if thats how he is then I sure dont respect that. I am starting to think we hired a NAME. Just because your dad is a good Coach doesnt make you one. Nicely going from a 2 year starter to possibly 4th string... Nicely needs to BAIL... WOW I cant believe now people are posting that we need a QB.. What about all the post this fall how the LONE RANGER was riding in to SAVE THE DAY.. I was never a fan, and you can do all the cheerleading you want like MOORE did in spring and summer but when it was game time, he didnt amount to squat. At least Nicely was able to beat BUFFALO. PN7 was a great QB out of high school,,and he did pretty good his freshman year when throw into action. Both him and Moore took a beating because our O LINE was terrible. IF Moore had come in and tore thigns up,,then I would have said,,YES PN7 isnt doing good,,but we went backwards this year,,,and I didnt think that was possible. Things wont change overnight. If I was Katz or Crist...AKRON would be the last place I would want to go play. Lets hope we can get some DECENT COACHES now and work with the talent we have and BUILD from that.

Lets all JUST BE CAREFULL who we look at. If a Coach is FIRED from one school what makes you think he will be great at AKRON. I dont think RI wil be getting to many offers. A FIRED COACH is a FIRED COACH. Perhaps a sucessful Coach at the 1AA level might be worth looking into,,Just a thought. Find a Coach on his was UP,,not one who just got his PINK SLIP like RI did

WHY is STOOPS name even mentioned.. HE GOT FIRED by Arizona..so something must not have been going to good. Why do we want a Coach who has been canned by another University. but WAIT... All the Posts at the beginning of the season were talking about THE LONE RANGER coming in and saving Akron Football. Also how BAD PN7 was. Well it looks like CM8 has fallen flat on his face. At least Nicely was able to beat Buffalo last year. This year he had a TD when he was throw in at the end. Nicely was a great QB in High School..and with the right coaching could really be an asset to the team. RI and RP need to be GONE. Scratch that,, the WHOLE STAFF needs to be gone. Sorry about the death of RIs mother, I lost my dad a few years back. But I have been watching the death of Akron Football every week since RI has been head coach. You GET the right coach,,,things will change. My wifes school down in Texas, SAM HOUSTON STATE. They fired their coach 2 years ago and hired a new one. Where is Sam Houston State now? 11-0 Ranked number 1 in 1AA and heading into the playoffs. Dont give me the BS Coach I,,how you need 5 years to develop a plan. YOU need 5 years to sock the money away that your stealing from Akron, because your sure not worth what your getting paid !!!

Coach I has backed himself into a corner.. Sure PN had a new system to learn last year just as CM8 did when he got here. I would have given PN7 the first shot this fall,,but as I said I sure RI and RP PROMISSED the starting job to CM8 if he came. With that said...now that CM8 has failed,,,just imagine how much more of an IDIOT RI would feel,,if he puts Nicely in now,,and Patrick DOES GOOD. PN7 is a BIG KID im sure he can RUN the ball if the coaches would let him. POOR COACHING,, Can RI fire you up? NO WAY,, After listening to his monotone youtube fall practice videos,,and the constant face touching,,it was hard not to cancel my season tickets. However,,THANK YOU RI for running our program into the ground. I love being able to park next to the stadium on home games and never having to wait in line for a bathroom or food .

I hate to see people still BASHING NICELY The kid was throw into action his freshman year when we had planned to red shirt him..sophmore year the GREAT COACH I comes on the scene and guts the program> Coach I has no backbone so he TRIES to place the blame of a terrible 2010 season on PN7 by bringing in CM8...Our O LINE didnt Block, receivers didnt catch , defense got 3rd degree burns,,poor playing calling,,and that was ALL PN7s fault right ?,,,, Well CM8 has now walked in the shoes of PN7 and failed. Nicely at least had a YEAR to learn the new system, but was never given a chance in 2011. Let CM8 do all the cheerleading and let PN7 go throw,,that is if our RECEIVERS can catch it. The total colapse of Akron Football can be placed on the shoulder of RI. It was a bad hire. Maybe he did a good job BSING recruits to come to Notre Dame, and I am SURE he promised CM8 the starting job IF he were to come to AKRON,,,but he has no skills to be a head coach. My wife attended a 1AA college in Texas. They went through some poor seasons 2008 4-7 , 2009 5-6 , They fired the head coach and went and got a new one,,a GOOD ONE,, HIS first year 6-5,, This year 4-0.. THATS HOW ITS DONE when you get a good Head Coach. Our AD blew it on this one.. CYA RI and staff, I hope CM8 stays healthy enough to help you pack up

You're not the first one to make this assumption. I guess you have to wonder. I want to see Moore's production improve a lot this week also. And he should be pressured to start showing us more, and become more efficient. But regardless of what happens, he's still roughly 16 games short of the other experiment that failed. So, if Moore does not start to show his ability during the next several games, I sure hope we don't wait that long to pull the plug. Although, we really only have one more QB that we haven't seen play very much, don't we?kind of SCARRED to type now since big brother is watching on here now,,but here goes.. I feel it wouldnt matter IF we had peyton manning at qb,,, if guys cant block, if guys cant catch if defense cant stop the competition, if coaches cant coach and motivate, then it doesnt matter who we have at qb,, All this hype on lone ranger,,he hasnt done anything. Head Coaches and QBS are the CEOs.. RI was WEAK and TRIED to put last seasons disaster on PN7. Way to go RI, Try and blame it all on a 20 year old. YOU go get a juco qb,,and your STILL in the same boat. RI and the staff need to look in the mirror,,,most of these kids play their hearts out, but if they arent COACHED UP. Its easy to bash on the QB, but lets look elsewhere in the program for answers. Give the QBS a rest on here

I don't know if Nicely has gotten a fair shot in a game this year to prove his stuff. Today I think it was a case of giving Moore time to get his head straight but in that time, Nicely seemed to be doing OK. Why pull him and put Moore back in right away? Honestly, I think our O-Line is so bad that RI thinks we NEED to have Moore in there to give the QB position an additional dimension. Like some of the preseason stuff said, Nicely might not make as many mistakes but Moore can make things happen. Maybe those mistakes caused the blowout today? Deep down, part of me also wonders if RI's ego is kicking in here and Nicely won't see the field until the game is out of hand or Moore gets hurt?I hope the game next week helps this team build some confidence. I think Moore should still be the starter but Nicely should also not be on such a short leash. Until today Moore seemed to do a pretty good job of keeping those "DOAH" moments in check. If mistakes become a problem, Nicely should be given a chance. OK?? OK??? he was 1-6 with 7 yards and an interception I wish people would have the same standards and expectations for Moore.I think he had 5 DROPS so if you add those in its 6-6 with one interception,,and that was from stepping up and being hit when releasing the ball. Everyone was ALL OVER The LONE RANGER saying how he was going ot save this team. Well he hasnt. He has now seen what Nicely had to go through last year getting sacked and dropped balls,, but CM is still making mental mistakes. Coach I I bet was hoping CM would do good and he could blame last season on PN7. Looks like Coach I is the one who laid the egg,, Poor play calling, poor coaching, poor motivation by COACH I. Give PN7 the start this next week and see what happens. What can you expect with NICELY when he gets demoted to 2nd string and then all of a suden you throw him in the the #1 receivers. Let Lone Ranger go sit on hsi horse this week and lets see how Nicely does things. he has had time to sit an observe. HE didnt have that luxury last year because there was no depth at QB.. Hang in there PN7 They way RI has screwed you over by pushing the Lone Ranger, then putting you into Temple with a few minutes left, and then throw you in for a few series and take you out this past week,, You get a VIP pass into Heaven,,because you have already been thru hell. And another thing DOES ANYONE every go to the COACH I lunch meetings, I would be GLAD to see how he spins this

For me, that should have sent PN to the bench a long time ago. So, I will hold Moore to the same standard.Remember...he hasn't had the luxury of throwing against EMU, Buffalo, Can't or a 1-AA team yet either, which better be enough to bring those numbers up significantly. I'll say this again, even though I do NOT want to be put in the same category of those making excuses for our QB for the last two years. But....most people think that our protection and dropped ball problems were worse than ever Saturday night. Losing all of our skill guys, and a few OLs HAD to be a big concern to all of us going into the season. Our backs are having problems even holding onto dump passes. And Carter and LaFrance suddenly must be looking like All-Americans to us, compared to what we saw last weekend. But again, in my opinion, I could see a QB using this as an excuse as to why his numbers should be better. But, regardless of the circumstances, I still believe that somewhere in the 50-60 range should be an ABSOLUTE MINIMUM for a college QB.Please don't assume that games against those teams will prove to be any more productive. Frankly when Ianello decided to go with a QB who had never played in his system,and,as far as I know never threw a pass at the DI level and didn't actually show anything more in 'pre-season' than Nicely,it said to me that he was starting all over again. Ianello isn't in it to win much if anything this year. He knows he as at least 1 if not 2 more years before the AD actually expects any consistent winning.WAIT,, Didnt Coach I have a QB last year who had never played in his system? Hadnt been impressed with the Lone Ranger. So why not try Nicely again,,maye give him more then 2 minutes at the end of a game and were not DOWN by 40
