Ryno, I couldn't agree more.However, with regard to populaton.Macedonia is centrally located in the Cleveland/Akron Metro market. I don't think you can say it has less people.You almost have 2 million people in Cuyahoga and Summit Counties alone. I couldn't agree more with you concerning the soccer stadium.

Every time the Beacon writes a story, they start another thread. I usually try to avoid the smack forum. Maybe that's why I missed it up until now. No, No, No...I have NEVER based my opinion on the soccer stadium because of any perceived impact whatsoever on the Zips Stadium.As far as I'm concerned, they are two seperate issues.I feel the soccer stadium is a waste of taxpayer money. A soccer team will not be successful...period.NEVER have I said that I'm against the soccer stadium because it will hurt the Zips stadium. There is no comparing Columbus with this situation. It is just too different.The precident has already been set.Soccer will not draw in NE Ohio.We have the defunct teams to prove it..teams that were located in the city and the suburbs.This stadium is a waste of money.I hope it dies a quick one.

I agree. 30K seems about right.However, should the earth quake and he!! freezes over, and Akron wins 5 straight MAC championships and we need a bigger stadium...I would do what they did to Canal Park...build it with the potential to make it bigger.But for now...30k is about right.

Since you are such a great program...why don't you go IA Independent?Certainly YSU shouldn't bother with a crappy little mid-major like the MAC.As you can see from the MAC forum, there was a lot bigger effort to not letting YSU in than just Akron and Can't.My goodness, those Michigan schools won't hear about ANOTHER Ohio school in the conference.

Just listen to KD being interviewed by French post-game. He says as much. He unmistakably implies (on my read) that the non-MAC part of the schedule is being used to prepare the starting five and whatever bench players he can bring along to march through the MAC schedule and win the tournament and get the NCAA bid.The only chance for the MAC to get an at large is if the Zips win the tournament and the second place team is a team with some strength to its non-league schedule. I just think back to those days with Coach Huggins when we were an independent....winning, what was it, 21, 22 games a year and still getting passed over for an at-large bid.At-large is very difficult for a mid-major.
