  1. I say, big Z in the middle of the field and script Akron in the end zones. Maybe we can find a script Akron we can all believe in LOL.
  2. Totally agree, the turf has not aged well. If anything changes, start with the turf first.
  3. I personally like the script Akron and the “Z”. I believe we can have both. I hated our Akron “font” we had since the early ‘00’s. The past two years, I have seen a much cleaner and stylish uniform set.
  4. There is some hope, if you look at their construction bid site via uakron.edu, the outdoor track and field reno is up for bid. Looks like the project is slated to commence this summer.
  5. Embarrassing that we haven't updated our uniforms since 2009. Especially in times like these, when uniform updates are in vogue. High school teams can where all the same matching uniforms, why can't we?
  6. Wish we could drop Adidas all together, always wear outdated uniforms when the rest of the college world updates their uniforms yearly...
  7. I have been watching basketball for a long time, I have never seen a screen like that before. He is creating alot of contact... I personally don't know McCrea, he could be a great guy. However, I do watch him on the court and find him to be a dirty player. I appreciate your passion but I don't know how you can spin this. It's also not just this play, it is a body of work. I have seen McCrea play chippy for four years now. He is deserving of the POY, I will not argue the fact but I do think he gets away with alot on the court. BTW I love this is becoming a heated rivalry and hope we can meet again in Cleveland!
  8. Great find, remember that well. It's pretty clear on that video, let's see how our UB friend spins this... I am fine with McCrea winning POY, his stats clearly indicate he is the POY but let's not pretend he isn't a dirty player who complains just as much as his head coach. I also think that McCrea also benifits from a lot of no calls, I love his physicality but also think he gets away with a lot. Just my two cents.
  9. Did McCrea throw the ball at Isiah Johnson earlier this season and receive a technical? I don't think he did because I couldn't find a video clip of this. Go on ubfan and sing McCrea's praises, I simply don't care how good his stats are, he has never led his team to a championship. Maybe he will this year but until he does... he is a nice player but not a great player. BTW, I literally have never seen a coach lobby for more calls in my life. Simply embarrassing that coach Hurley had such a long leash. Literally could have called a couple technicals at any point in the first half. Couldn't believe he went after diggs early in the first half, never seen a coach go after a player so aggressively.

  11. I wouldn't say you "most definitely" have more depth, I do believe you have depth but I believe you are vastly understating Akron's as well. I would do a little more research or watch an akron game before you make assumptions on a Akron Zips message board.
  12. I rarely post but I read this board on a regular basis. I have been reading this site for years and I am proud UA alum. I attended almost every basketball, soccer and football game while in school and still attend as many zips games as possible. During my years as an undergrad, I was neither a member of the band or the rowdies. However, I am starting to get irritated reading the negative comments regarding the band. There are literally two topics in which so called zips fans are putting down the band. At any other school, the band is a source of pride. At Ohio State or OU, the band loved. Why don't we embrace ours, I happen to think they are pretty good. Like the rowdies, every year the band gets better and better. I just don't understand negative comments regarding the band. I love everything about UA, whether its the rowdies or the band. However, until the rowdies can fill those lower bowl seats on a regular basis, I don't see a need to move the band. I love the atmosphere the rowdies provide but I am almost sensing entitlement. The rowdies have grown since my graduation but until I see a strong consistent rowdie presence at the every basketball game (think OZONE, as much as I hate OU), I don't think the band needs to relocate.I think we need to remember we that we are all zips, whether we are in the band, the rowdies, or just UA students or alums. I don't know why there has been so much negativity on the bored lately but its starting to irritate me. Lets unite in our collective disgust with ICOACH and not tear down those who try to make the games more fun to attend (the band or the rowdies)Go zips. Alright, now I am done.

  15. oh yeah, i wasnt making fun of the rifle, you guys are great and keep on keeping on.PEACE
  16. Funny stuff.... YSU stinks, literally they reek. Maybe now, Peguinlover will finally stop posting on our board. Oh yeah, I was watching the game, where were their fans? I thought it would be at least 3000 people, looked more like an Akron rifle team match game. Finally who cares if their stadium or arena is better(which in a couple of years, that wont be the case), Id much rather play in the rubber bowl and be in the MAC. Seriously, maybe YSU municple gym looks cool on the outside but at the end of the day, its just another jar, with a bad scoreboard. Is it really YSU's arena or does it actually belong to the Canfield School District. It really looks like a high school gym with those new age retractable hoops and all. Whatever, at the end of the day YSU stinks and so does Can't. Peace.
  17. Actually it looked like they added a new document as of December 22, 2006 for qualifications of construction managers. The document states a start and finish to the stadium project. March 3, 2008: construction begins and July 6, 2009: construction ends.
  18. New to the forum, but how about checking out SMU's Gerald J. Ford Stadium. Seats 30,000 and construction begun in '97 and ran a cost of about 42 mill.
