  1. Turn the other cheek....
  2. Behave.
  3. Is there any mention in it of my idea to build a "Transformer Arena"? I'm sure everyone remembers my idea about building a dorm that transforms into a basketball arena that can walk around campus and pick up student to increase attendance in the cold winter months and relieve fans from long walks from various parking lots.
  4. No surprise. Exactly the kind of coach Wake would hire. Probably a good hire, but Wake is a tough place to win. Following Jim Grobe might not be as difficult as conventional wisdom might have us believe. Or Peahead Walker for that matter.
  5. Only, it doesn't provide any measurables.
  6. Link I thought this might be a good link for this topic.
  7. Don't you mean "front porch"? At this point, I would ask everyone to Google "athletics as front porch" and see how often that phrase has been used at numerous universities. It isn't creative. It's more of the same wording used to dupe taxpayers across the country.
  8. The good news is, if the BCS teams ever go on their merry way, UofA will be in a great position to compete at the level they are not excluded. As much as I make fun of the "building process", it will have left us in a great position if this happens.
  9. Dave chooses his words wisely. Note his last sentence. If the BCS schools ever go on their merry way, we will still be competing at the highest level available to UofA.
  10. There has to be football and MBB to at least try to make some attempt to support the "building process". Without those, the bubble bursts sooner rather than later. I'm not even certain that for most schools, the bubble ever bursts because most of the players are publicly funded schools. That being the case, regardless of how bad it gets, the taxpayers will soak up the costs. Worse yet, they will just continue to increase the student fees. It's vulgar and obscene on many levels, yet we all continue to watch and support.
  11. I couldn't hear the announcers where I was watching the game, but weren't there two flags. One for interference and one for off sides? The offside ruling was taken because it was dead ball and forced NIU to kick again?.?.
  12. Dave saves me a lot of time above. With the exception of the talking about spring football.
  13. The mac isn't flourishing now. It's neither alive, nor dead....sort of like the ncaa's version of a zombie. Dambrot and Bowden aren't going anywhere. I"ve mentioned it before, but I'll say it again...the links in the Deadspin article say the same thing. The "Building Process" is so out of control, the only way to sustain it is forcing the general student population to pay excessive student fees financed through student loans and through taxpayer dollars. It's the only answer for schools like Akron and most BCS level schools as well. The "facilities" and everything that word encompasses are mostly completed. Now the real cost is maintaining them. It is going to be a huge challenges for universities, but they did it to themselves and there was never anyone out there even hinting that it might be a mistake.
  14. The lesson for me and the mac right now is the quality of football is very good. I don't care to watch football at a level below the nonBCS D1A teams. High school football does nothing for me, but that's just my opinion. I understand the kids are playing hard, but it just doesn't interest me. What I saw in Akron two Fridays ago was quality football played and coached at a level similar to the tosu/michigan and Auburn/Alabama game. Entertaining for anyone watching.
  15. It's truly insane.
  16. Article My bet is Temple is the tip of the iceberg.
  17. What about when Slowhio State loses?
  18. Slowhio really got out run, out coached and out toughed by a better msu team. Congratulations to Mark Dantonio for solidifying himself as the top coach in the BT with the best team. Congratulations and a fond farewell to the BCS for once again being right about who should be in the title game.
  19. This game was evidence that bcs movement isn't over until all games are played. All conference championships have two good teams. Auburn and tosu had better come ready to play today.
  20. I don't follow off season developments very closely, but he is a name and Ogeron is another name that comes up. Coming from a Mac school he will be a younger version of Grobe. In reality, when your two greatest coaches are Jim Grobe and Peahead Walker, howcould you go wrong?
  21. Oddly enough, this has not impacted their average points per game. That stat remains the same.
  22. Because the endless desire to defend tosu by people from Ohio has reached a mass paranoia level. Just watch cable news tonight instead. You can catch on the War on Christmas stories.
  23. You and I see the world very similarly. I like the ncaa tournament because it feeds my impatience. I like quick resolutions to things and the ncaa tournament provides that escape for me. One game, you go home or keep going.
  24. True. Nothing is perfect.
  25. Actually, MLB, NBA and NHL all have better playoff systems as a team must win a series of games over another team to prove they are better. Nobody can have a bad game and be out of the playoffs.
