Quickzips
Rumor on Can't's board has Dru's little brother walking on for the flushes this year. Not really sure what to make of this, or if anything should be made of this. Needless to say some of the flush faithful are making it out to be a major recruiting coup. ZachTheZip
It's not a big deal. The younger Joyce is not his brother. They think it's a big deal because Dru went here, not because they are gaining a major recruit. They obsess about us over there. It's unhealthy. Zip Watcher
The younger Joyce is not his brother. What exactly does that mean? Are you just saying he's not as good as Dru?

Are you just saying he's not as good as Dru?He may have the same or better raw ability as Dru, but he doesn't have the benefit of playing with and learning from the best basketball player in the world for 4+ years. Captain Kangaroo
That would be cool if he decided to "go his own way" and attend K.e.n.t. I'd better not see Dru at and K.e.n.t. games sporting K.e.n.t. gear, however!
Valpo Zip
This can be ok news or really troubling news, depending on the circumstances. If Mr. Joyce didn't want to be a tail of his brother and wants to go in a different direction than that is fine. Also if KD didn't want him or didn't find a spot in our lineup, that's also fine. The only troubling situation would be if Mr. Joyce didn't like something about his brother's experience and wanted to go a different way. And with the (apparently) great KD-Dru relationship, i don't see that being the case.

I can definitely see him not wanting to experience college under the shadow cast by Dru. He would always be compared to him, and it would be extremely difficult to live up to the expectations that come with being the little brother of one of the best players to ever play here. Blue & Gold
I don't think he's a D-1 caliber player. More like Malone or Walsh. Hopefully he'll transfer after sitting the bench for a year. I strikes me the wrong way to think of a Joyce wearing a Can't jersey.
zipdiehard
A co-worker knows the family...from what he knows, KD wanted Cameron to walk on but he realized we were loaded at PG for the next several years, so he looked at other avenues. He apparently played very well at two recent AAU tournerys (WV and Vegas I believe) and really opened some eyes. Problem is that no one has schollies left. He is a bit smaller than Dru, but very similar, especially in knowing the game. Walking on a Can't gave him the best shot at D1.
