GP1 Posted August 26, 2008 Report Posted August 26, 2008 New clock rules as well as other rule changes.I don't know about you guys, but the length of college football games is nonsense. I welcome these NFL type rules. Less plays makes every play more important making games more exciting. Quote

Now officials have to get the ball placed and ready to go.I disagree with the elimination of the 5-yard incidental face mask penalty. To many drives are influenced by penalties as it is. 15 yards for this infraction is too generous... Quote

And I watched the pro refs get this call wrong all season. It's supposed be called for the times when a person grabs the shoulder pads and aggressively falls or pulls the ball carrier backward. The NFL was calling this at times when a person would use it to slow a runner or guide them out of bounds. I can't imagine how much the MAC officials will screw up these calls. The time issues, to appease the networks, is kind of funny to me. What's next get rid of the multiple possession OT format that exits now? I mean I understand that ABC has to get their paid commercial on by 4:30 etc. But really College ball is already played on the worst TV day of the week. The networks should be happy they can sell an extra 30 minute time slot for commercials. Quote
