ZachTheZip Posted August 29, 2008 Report Posted August 29, 2008 The game is underway...Here's something to help pass the time until we hear the score: Quote
zippyfan34 Posted August 29, 2008 Report Posted August 29, 2008 Looks like it is tied at zero at the half. It seems to be pretty even so far with Akron getting the only shot on goal. Quote
zippyfan34 Posted August 29, 2008 Report Posted August 29, 2008 Akron up 1-0 with a goal by Sarkodie. Quote

ZachTheZip Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 I'm excited for our soccer teams. At least we'll have something to look forwards to after tomorrow. The Women's team beat SIU-Edwardsville 2-0 tonight, and it wasn't even close. Quote
a-zip Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 Great Job Boys, stay focused! BEAT IU! ZNation - This may be our first National Championship team (bball next....... Hi Zeke! -) We just shut out #3, need to beat IU, with our rep-TOP 5 is guaranteed. Next.........run the MAC, possible #1 ranking in our reach. We need to make a SICK home field advantage for these guys. P.S. - Mr. Taylor - it would take a tiny amount of $ to build the NCAAs best soccer atmosphere right next to your football stadium Quote
ZippyRulz Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 "Akron beats Notre Dame", I love the sound of that. It would be really sweet to knock off IU at their place...they kind of have our number and we need to get our number back.Go Zips Soccer !! Quote
zippyrifle32 Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 P.S. - Mr. Taylor - it would take a tiny amount of $ to build the NCAAs best soccer atmosphere right next to your football stadium I was thinking last night at the women's game about how important that hill is to creating home field advantage. obviously it allows the rowdies to stand behind and heckle the shit out of opponents, but at half time when teams switch sides, it's not possible to get that same level of heckling. I think it would be really cool if in the new stadium design, they made room for little kills behind both goal posts. It would increase seating and provide more possibilities to create a harsher environment for opponents. Quote
w00t Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 Huge victory!!! Interesting starting lineup as well (4 Freshmen, 4 Sophs, 1 Junior, 2 Seniors) featuring five new faces... two more true freshmen came off the bench as well. According to the box score, Nanchoff and Tipton didn't feature in the match... anyone know if either of those omissions were injury-related?Another big test tomorrow at 2:00 vs. Indiana, televised on the Big Ten Network! These opening games are very important as they will likely determine how many home games we get come tournament time. Quote
