Ziptastic
Note to J.D.:Wiscosin is going to run the ball!!!!!!!! YOUR 3-3-5 CAN'T STOP THEM!!!!!!!!!Oh Boy! Things are getting out of hand!
PB1719
I completely agree, I was about to write the same thing when I saw your post... 400 freakin' rushing yards? Somebody wanna start scouting HS Coaches? I'm done with JD.

Ziptastic
Very true.... on a positive note Jacquemain did look very good! I was also impressed with the play of Dashan Miller... he looked good! Andre Jones was slightly disappointing as a WR, but he can really be a great kick returner! On the defensive side I saw a lot of Tyler Campbell which impressed me!!! Hopefully we can turn our run defense around for the rest of the season! Overall... I still LOVE THE ZIPS!!!! ZippyforPresident
One positive note, at least Jaq. is doing good.Jaq gets cred. JD gets none. This game was ridiculous. Can we PLEASE show up against the Orange Men? The QB position is not the problem any longer, it is the D. Crap, we are a pathetic mac team. The mac is garbage. It hurts to say these things but it is completely true... WE ARE GARBAGE AND OUR CONFERENCE IS EVEN WORSE... Please get healthy Zips.... Apply for the job, geniusI never claimed to be the man for the job, I am simply agreeing with the man that was pointing out the obvious. The 3-3-5 will never be take us anywhere, and there are 10 teams on our schedule that have experience playing us in it. We aren't fooling anyone. I like JD, but he is not doing what we need him to in order to win. We have more talent on the defensive side than we're showing.
ZippyAlum
I'm back from the Brewing Company. It was really nice! I especially liked when the OSU fans were begging them to turn on the audio to their game so they could find out what was going on with Wells. They didn't! What were you guys expecting from the defense? We're missing at least two major players. (I hear Bain won't be back until we start MAC play.) I thought the "D" was doing fine until we got that stupid penalty on the kick off return. It went downhill pretty fast after that. Our defense stopped them twice in the first half and held them to a field goal once BUT Hill is one of the top RBs in the country. The negativity on this board drives me nuts. I was pretty stoked when we were only down by one TD at the half. If we could have started the second half drive at the 40 we could have tied it up. I know it sounds like excuses but I think we have a better team than everyone thinks. Signed, A ZIP 'TIL THE BITTER END

I tried to tune into the coaches show on Thursday and couldn't find it, and the pregame show on 106.9 FM was not aired till about 11:50, plus the audio on 1350 AM stunk. Obviously the loss of Bain and Lively hurt. Did Davis play today? At 6'6" and 285 lbs I would have thought we could have used him. It would have been nice to see a few plays with a 4-3 D, even with our injuries, as we all knew Wisconsin was going to run at us. Do we even practice a 4-3? I liked the weapons we now have on the Offense. The running game (and line - except for the shotgun snaps) looks good and I like our receivers (especially Bowser, Miller, and Bruce). I think we will be OK (and that includes Jacq).
Lee Adams
look...its not just today that the D gave up big yards on the ground...its been that way for several years now...if wisc. gets 400+, teams like cant,ou,temple...will surely get 150 to 200...no good...if as some say the players are better then its the scheme and the coaching...on the brighter side the receivers weren't bad...Johnson and Allen should put Kennedy on the bench where he belongs...CJ?...not convinced yet... RACER
i thought the offense played alott better than i thought they would.cj looks to be alott more comfortable in the pockett.the wr seems to be an upgrade over last year.they need to use the te more down the field.the only issue with the offense was the false starts.i still do not understand why we have so many of them.the defense played terrible.jd needs to a.jones on defense full time.wiskey pretty much ran over the zips.everybody knew they were going to run,and akron could not slow them down.how much of that is the loss of our two dl's is hard to say.the next game cuse got beat by n.w 30-10.i think the zips have a chance if we can get healthy on the dl.if cuse saw what i saw today they will try to run, run, and runover the zips.jd needs to get the defense in gear, and soon. ZachTheZip
http://www.ohio.com/sports/zips/27701494.h...age=all&c=yGaffney's article. Glad to see it's not the AP report with a few words mixed around. We started two redshirt freshmen in place of Bain and Lively. They got some good experience for the future, if nothing else. Hopefully one of our starters returns against Syracuse or we'll find ourselves in a shootout.
Blue & Gold
Along the DL I know freshmen Hasan Hazime and Dan Marcoux were in there and I believe I also saw true freshman James Harvey out there.

A back also has to be able to block and Allen was often just standing there as if he had nothing better to do. His penalty on the kickoff was inexcusable. I thought we moved the ball well when Tuzze was in and then we didn't see him in the second half.

I hear the guy is a beast at linebacker but i dont see him in the game.He wants to play RB, so that's where he will play. Maybe over the course of the year, the coaches can convince him to play defense a bit so he can get on the field more.
Blue & Gold
I hope DT decides to play a little D, because if not, with RB Dale Martin coming online next season, DT may have to get used to watching from the sideline.

You will see all three rb's all season so get used to it. Lively has a broken elbow it will be a few more weeks til we may see him. We played a pretty good game I thought. Especially a good first half. Wisconsin is the real deal and so is there OL and PJ Hill. They may have trouble later in the season when they have to pass the ball more. RACER
does anyone know when bain will play.we need him and lively back asap.i do not understand all the offside penalities.no reason for that to happen five times.i watched some of the cuse northwestern game.this is a game the zips can win.they need to cut out the penalties, and no turnovers. jones needs to play on defense all the time.jd has done a good job of getting some new wr;so no need for him to play on the offense.i did not understand the move in the first place.we need to get johnson the ball.the guy can do a little bit of everthing. Davis? Is he hurt or just not ready to play yet as a Red. Freshman? At 6'6" 285 Ibs. and quick, I'd like to know why he did not play in Madison. The O-line offside penaties will be fixed in the film room and practice. Typical first game jitters.

Davis could be hurt, could have quit, could be in the doghouse for disiplinary... who knows... it would be nice to hear something from the coach or a reporter on all three: Bain, Lively, and Davis. I suppose, however, we have to keep Syracuse guessing. On another note, has anyone seen the two-deep chart published for this year? They used to place it on GoZips.com prior to every game. Dr Z
i wanna know what's up with devoe torrence. I hear the guy is a beast at linebacker but i dont see him in the game. Why would you want to play LB in a 3-3-5? I bet if we played the 3-4 he would be dying to play LB.If my goal was to play in the NFL, I would be very hesitant to play for a team that plays the 3-3-5 if I wasn't a DB.
