I mentioned this last year. My wife told me last year during the Miami vs. Akron 7-0 disaster that the MAC is like Dollar General. "You can convince someone to come once, but once they see the crap you are selling it is hard to get them to come back." That in summary is this game so far. Akron is marching up and down the field and should be winning by more than 20. Instead we get penalties inside the 20, missed fieldgoals and missed extra points........ BUSH LEAGUE. The entertainment value is simply horrible. In fact, it is so bad I feel like the Zips are losing. They just showed a baby crying in the stands. The baby is the only person who undedrstands what is going on. I'd probably be crying too if I had to watch this in person.

good win by jd and the zips.i know army is not very good ,but any road win agianst a d-1 team is a good win.i thought we would be fine without allen.hopefully we will see more of the fb now.this will help us redhsirt torrence this year.hopefully we will get some more d-line back for cinnci.hard to tell if the defense has improved, but we won't really know until we play cinncinnati.i do give jd credit for bringing in new guys like johnson & some wr that have upgraded our talent.next week will not be an easy game.the big difference wiht this team and last year is we can run the ball when we need to.we are alott better in short yardage situations now.

Brutal game to watch and the score was much closer than it should have been. At least Jacquemain added some humor at the end when he went Garo Yepremian. I actually laughed so loudly it scared my dog.Listen everyone. We need to score touchdowns when we get close. Against good teams (Army is easily as bad as the Zips were in the last couple year of Faust), we need to put the ball in the end zone. If #12 can't catch the ball wide open in the end zone, he should not be on the field. The Zips are making too many mistakes inside the 20 and it needs to stop after today. All of the sudden I am worried about our kicker missing extra points again. This is the equivolant of fan waterboarding and it makes final scores look like high school scores. At some schools, a kicker will go four years without even missing one extra point and we have to live through a guessing game.....In the end, the Zips are 2-2 and they covered the spread. Remember, it's not whether you win or lose, it's whether you cover the spread.

I'm not the least worried about the kicking game. Igor will be fine, yeah he missed an extra point, but he still hit 3 out of 4 field goals (as a matter of fact ESPN mentioned that the missed field goal was the first time this year that the Zips had failed to score when in the red zone. That's pretty encouraging). Remember our circus of a kicking game only a few years ago? Nice to get a win - only four to go to be bowl eligible. :)

This was the first time I've been able to sit and watch the entire game for the Zips. Honestly, I didn't see anything much different than what I've gotten used to seeing out of the Zips over the last couple years. The playcalling was questionable at times (particularly in the red zone). Jacq was his usual inconsistent self. Absolutely boneheaded fumble that he managed to get back. Got bailed out by his recievers throwing into double coverage on more than one occasion. Although I'll cut him a little slack because Jeremy Bruce has the absolute worst hands I think I've ever seen on a reciever. The running game looked effective enough. There were still WAY too many penalties. Most of them were just plain focus penalties. False Starts, offsides, etc. Those shouldn't still be happening after all this time. The defense still got handled by a mobile QB until they started to realize that Army posed NO threat in the passing game and stacked the box with 8-9 guys every down. The kicking game was a nightmare to watch. Igor had probably his worst game in a long time. Stec was unspectacular and our kickoffs aren't even up to snuff with those of an average high school team. A win is a win is a win, but I can't see us putting up a .500 season or above with this team. To me they are no better, but no worse than they have been the last couple seasons.

"This is the equivolant of fan waterboarding"--That is the funniest line I've seen in a LONG TIME. Thank goodness the Zippers won. GO ZIPPERS BABY!!!!!!

Yet you keep going back to Dollar General to whine about the merchandise...apparently your wife was wrong. The baby crying in the stands should be named GP2.

Crazy isn't it? I actually think being a Zips fan has given me a mental disorder. Two weeks ago, I bought a new bird hunting gun and I have not taken it out yet. What did I do yesterday on a beautiful Saturday afternoon? I wasted an afternoon being waterboarded by the Zips for three hours while sitting on my couch. Get the mask, plastic, rope and bucket full of water ready because next week I will be back for more.......

Look at the positive side. At least you didn't use the gun to shoot your TV.

If I were you I would lock that gun up for that game. It could get ugly. That is unless we have some d-lineman return. And when I say d-lineman, I am not talking about the injured guys. I mean Jason Taylor, Wayne Grant, Pierce Joyner and Dwayne LeFall(sophomore version). :D

With the injury to Alex Allen, be prepared for more of the same. We will struggle inside the red zone with the lack of a real threat.
