What's up with Bryan Williams? He's getting one or two tackles more than me, and I'm a 42 year old guy in the stands? No solo tackles vs. K.e.n.t, 1 solo tackle & 1 assist vs. BG, 2 solo tackles and one assist vs. EMU?By comparison @ EMU: Carter had 10 solos, Cobham had 8 solo's and Thomas had 7 solos. In the turnover department, Williams has 1 INT and 1 fumble recovery on the season?And I don't want to hear any "They're running/throwing away from him" stuff. Opponents avoided Dwight like K.e.n.t. State football avoids wins, and Dwight made his presence felt in every game.Our defense is playing very poorly going into the break, and if we're going to have any chance of righting the ship we need Bryan Williams to start playing like the 3rd round NFL draft pick pretty much everyone expected (in September) he'd become.

It's not just Williams. The whole defense has disappeared. Nobody's making any tackles, nobody's pressuring the QB, nobody's doing a damned thing. Is the unit tired from being on the field too often thanks to our quick-strike offense? Is it the scheme that prevents players from actually playing? Something's wrong. I want to blame it on the 3-3-5 not putting talented guys in a position to succeed, but I think it goes deeper than that.

Well I predicted this defense would be one of Akron's best ever, so I think I win the 'worst prognosticator of the year' award In my weak defense, I was counting hugely on Bain, but I think we all know that even if Bain was every bit as good as advertised on game day, this defense would still have its share of problems.BWill probably saved the Syracuse game, lest we forget. I'll admit, he hasn't been as electrifying as I expected but there are bigger problems on the D than BWill. He's not even the most disappointing _Will -> DWill wins this one. He (DWill) has 4 games left to justify his "captainship" as far as I am concerned. Granted the scheme may handcuff some of these players, but COME ON guys.....let's start making some plays down the stretch.Speaking of _Wills, does anyone know how AWill is coming along? I think we miss his ability to get to the ball from the LB spot. This ability of his was quite evident against Army.

We got a relatively weak MAC West schedule, and there isn't anyone in the East that is dominant. 3 and 1 really should have a chance at the East title and we've shown we can win on the road.
