WHATS DIFFERENT ABOUT KENNEDY

B) where did the new and improved dennis kennedy come from?...here's some things that may have happened....first and maybe most important this offensive line tackle to tackle is probably the best group that has been here since the ZIPS went D-I...those guys are controlling games even in losses...second, i think kennedy learned from watching Alex Allen and Andrew Johnson...he has stopped looking for the sideline and started running 'north/south'...stick your nose in the hole and move the legs...starting to remind me a little of brett biggs the last really decent running back we had here before Allen...kennedy isn't as thick in the legs but he is running the middle and moving the pile at times like biggs did...finally kennedy appears motivated..he seems to want the responsibilty of carrying the ball alot...good for him because thursday is the biggest game at the Bowl since the 'Blizzard Bowl' in 2005 when they won the division...

DK is obviously on a role, and he's performing in many different manners. His running and pass catching were both outstanding last night. The one thing that I find pretty amazing is that he's still playing on the kickoff coverage team (which did a fine job last night, BTW, aided greatly by Bronco's much higher kicks).

I think it is a combination of him being healthy and finally getting it.

The difference is the fact that he finally has a chance to get in a rhythm during a game. At the beginning of the season they had 3 backs in rotation. When Allen and johnson went down, DK was able to step up and find his confidence. Now DK is running like a man who has something to prove!

I heard things from coaches last year such as "he's missing something this year". Maybe a little bit of desire has returned, along with the other things we already know about, such as his injury problems...and possibly this change in running style. Remember one thing...how good your offensive line is playing doesn't determine who the starters are going to be at RB. He flat out got demoted last year, and we may never fully know why. Whatever the reason....I'm glad to see him back.

You know, I hadn't even thought about this until now, but has DK played himself into getting any attention from the NFL? He has always been a pretty "complete" (if not eye-catching, until the last three games anyway) back in terms of running running, blocking and receiving. Maybe with the opportunity that has fallen his way (being the featured back), DK has looked at this as a chance to show something to everyone, including the scouts? Who knows, maybe the coaching staff was intrumental in DK looking at it this way.If he keeps playing like for the rest of the season, perhaps being a late round draft choice is not out of the question. At worst case, a free agency deal should be there. He may have already earned that.

I thought the same thing. The real question is how serious would a team need to be about him to take him.DK is a solid player, but his biggest down fall as it would relate to an NFL team would be his being often injured. The shoulder injuries would be especially problematic for a team because that is the first thing to go on an NFL RB. Teams need guys who suit up each week and perform at a very high level even when they are injured.

I just thought of something else I wanted to say. I LOVED when the running game was slowing down and they put in the double backs: Tuzze and DK. They're an awesome combo and I would like to see them in together more often especially in short yardage situations. There is no reason EVER for us not to be able to pound out a first down. Our line is great and an additional blocker should assure us of a first down every time. Pass whenever you want but always get the first down to keep the drive alive! I hate when we get in the red zone, have 3 incomplete passes, and then kick the field goal. Go for the first down then worry about the TD.
