You all might not appreciate Dan Hipsher just because the team hasn't performed well while he was there but Dan has brought a lot there besides talent. I feel really bad that he was fired because in the past his players don't care about what he has to say so they follow their own agenda and not his. I don't care if they didn't like him or not they should've tried I didn't like one of my coaches but I still played my best and I never just told the coach I didn't care what he had to say and then sat out. If those players couldn't even try then that doesn't say very much about them.

Dare,

Like it or not, it is the responsibility of the coach to make sure that the players are following his plan, not the reverse. Quite the contrary to what you are saying, if DH allowed the players to establish their own agenda (which may have some merit), he should have been gone a long time ago.

KentZip,

Agreeing with the new coach when asked who he wants to see win the MAC crown.

WHO CARES????????

I know he should've tried but sometimes there are things he can't change. He might have said something to some of those players but they are going to do what they want and he couldn't help it.

Here's the deal as I see it -- DH has to be accountable from soup to nuts if he recruited the players then them not listening to him is his problem. I've talked to a few people close to the team since the firing and subsequent hiring of KD -- Hipsher's biggest problem was he didn't coach. The growth you saw in the freshman from beginning to end was attributed to KD. DH would yell at the kids and then they would turn to Keith for instruction, interpretation and listening. This isn't the first time I've heard this -- as has been said before not one player DH coached was better his senior year than he was any previous year. By the end of the year the players quit on him -- thus his poor record in the tournament. There were games every year that hinted at the talent he had -- unfortunately even most of those weren't wins, but close losses. I'll look forward to DH's quick hook leaving with him. Its hard for a kid to play as he keeps looking over his shoulder to be pulled. No one on this board needs to cry for DH -- at the end of his contract he'll have been paid by the taxpayers of this state and the students for 12 years at a higher rate than most folks make over the course of 20-30 years with a country club membership and car allowance to boot - all for extremely mediocre (at best) basketball. See you DH -- I can't wait for next year and the end of the motion offense. Aren't all offenses motion offenses anyhow? Who runs an offense where you stand around and do nothing.

Well I am sure you should all appreciate other things Dan has done because I am sure he has done other things. Like I said players shouldnt quit no matter what because that just makes them look bad as well. Those players should have looked to see what Dan was like as a coach ask the other players because that would be the coach they would be playing for. Players these days need to suck it up and not quit. Wood and Travis need to stop their crying everytime they get called for something. KD needs to look outside of St V-M and recruit other places as well.

Well ya he had a good season. AD shouldn't just worry about 2 sports having good MAC runs he should look at them all and only a few Akron teams have good MAC runs.

Now is it just me, or does this new poster "Dare Ya" have a literary style remarkably close to another member of this board, with the #34 in her name? And how interesting that they are both shills for DH and co.

How interesting! Now can we all move on -- to the Dambrot era?

As a person with a vested interest in the board, I think it is time to begin the process for removal of Andy Hipsher's girlfriend. I gave her a chance, but my patience has expired.

As of this morning, she's been advised by a moderator / administrator that she is welcome here (with ONE account name) under the circumstances that she has something of substance to add, rather than her recent performance in this thread.

This initial warning WILL be the only one given.

AO / ElusiveQB is long since gone .. surely lurking in Ashland these days. Our best wishes to him!

AkronZipsFan34_1_5 = DareYouToMove = Akronballa34 ... etc. This is the user of concern here. I'm hoping she'll respect the wishes of the community and become a productive member w/ one chosen name. After all, if she is a Zips fan, she'll want to remain around here. We'll see how it goes.

I also agree to that motion - and may I recommend that Hipshergirfriend...andy fan34... dareyou... - whatever you want to call yourself - talk to a few other players other than the Hipsher boys to get a different perspective than her own very narrow view of DH's coaching talent (or lack there of).

Respect must be earned! - Enough said!!

Good bye!!
