GoZips
Tried to decipher from GoZips.com where at St. V's the men's soccer game is being played. Is it at venerable Green St. Stadium located across Market St. from St. V's; or is it over in North Hillat some sports complex on Patterson Ave.?Does anyone actually know besides the university (and, they ain't a talkin)? tbozeglav
As far as I have heard, as based on how I am reading what gozips.com saying, this is where the game is at. Its pretty much the only facility close enough to campus to house the gamehttp://maps.live.com/default.aspx?v=2&...1&encType=1That is SVSM's recently renovated football stadium. Big Zip
So the real question is -- why the hell aren't we playing a home game on our campus?!?!WTF is going on here that we can't ready a soccer field for a game in time?!?! What is the point of home field advantage if you don't get to play on your home field? This is a disaster!!!!!!

You can walk there from the UA campus is 15 minutes or less. Info and photos here:http://www.stvmfootball.com/stadium.html

You should have seen the field at the NIU game.I think it plays to our strengths more to hold the game on field turf at a facility closer than the Rubber Bowl is to campus than it would to play the game on our true home field that is waterlogged and torn up. This team will play much better on the turf at St. V's. I'm have faith that the Rowdies will figure out how to get down the street from campus and into the goalies head! Big Zip
How about we buy a freakin tarp and cover the field?
tbozeglav
How about we buy a freakin tarp and cover the field?thats a big ass tarp you're talkin about there... i think a new stadium is being built sooner or later and I am sure it'd be designed to handle weather like this...in other news, I just noticed this thread has the most hilarious name ever... skip-zip
What would be really funny is if all of these Suckeye fans that supposedly got bused up here are ill informed about the location change, and can't find the field I actually also wonder what they did. I'm sure their intention was just to come up here for the night, and go right back. Did they already get here and end up having to go back? Or did they get hotel rooms and stay? And I would suspect that many of them won't come back tonight and will start heading home tonight instead for the holiday.

ZachTheZip
Bah. There had better be a way to stand behind the goalies. That's what gives us most of out home field advantage.

I hope they can plow around both endzones. We've never had the chance to stand behind a goalie for both halves before.

We've never had the chance to stand behind a goalie for both halves before. There isn't any room directly behind the north endzone. You'd either be on the field or in the parking lot 20 feet behind the goal, the later of the two requiring you to exit the complex to be there. A far as being anywhere near the north endzone, the ROWDIES could do the same thing they do at the Jack and stand at the corner of the field, in this case the northwestern corner where the main entrance is to the stadium. ZachTheZip
Well, we weren't allowed to stand anywhere that wasn't in the stands. They roped off the south endzone. In the 2nd overtime, we pulled our trump card: actually leaving the stadium to go stand behind the north goal in the parking lot. Glad it worked. Ya then they sent Akron PD over to move us from behind the net. We can stand there just not directly behind the goal. Even the officers thought it was BS but they had to do it. zippyrifle32
I was talking to a custodian last night at the bball game and he was telling me that up to 5:00 they were still trying to shovel and plow to get the field ready. He mentioned something about trying to plow actually tore up the field worse, so no, it's not that unbelievable. we were lucky we were able to keep it in akron. I'm also assuming they are still saying TBA to give them time to finalize a deal to rent a field.
