zippyfan34
Almost forgot this game after the soccer match earlier today. Akron is up handily by the count of 43-23 at half. Linhart with 15. Anyone else looking forward to Saturday? Dayton beat Marquette yesterday and could be in the top 25 when they come to town next weekend. RootforRoo44
yeah it's going to be great....hope everyone makes it out and hopefully the NCAA doesn't move the contest due to snowy conditions in northeastern ohio.
johnnyzip84
Ahhh, KD and the boys are putting an end to the "lost" weekend. It sure helps to be playing Fairly reDiculous University, who I greatly overestimated in previous posts. They look to be 2nd worst on the schedule behind Urbana. Still, it's nice to see the Zips doing what they need in playing good defense and laying down the hammer.
johnnyzip84
83-40 Zips and as Frenchy says it's degenerated into "garbage time". 1:35 left

RowdyZip
Question: Mike Bardo line (12 min, 0pts, ZERO REBOUNDS, 1 assist, FOULED OUT) against awful competition. Has he somehow regressed below a not-so-good level from last year? Could Swiech actually be WORSE? We know what you think, nbs.

skip-zip
RowdyZip...I know what you're saying about Bardo's lack of rebounds...against poor competition, and it's hard to ignore. This is why I keep emphasizing to the optimists that this is a poor rebounding team, it's going to cost us dearly when conference play rolls around, and KD has even mentioned how this may be a hard problem to fix anytime soon. Even in his post game interview after the EKU loss, where they outrebounded us BADLY, he alluded to EKU not even being a strong team inside. Take my word for it...it's a very bad sign for what lies ahead for us considering that our conference teams, for the most part, will be much better than most of what we have been facing the last couple of weeks. Who's dropping the ball when it comes to coaching up attitude? Boals? KD? Good rebounders seem to have an attitude ... they WANT it and go after it time and time again. Bardo may be changing a shot here and there BUT what does it matter if our opponents are getting 2nd and 3rd chances each time down the court? Bardo also isn't giving us anything on offense either.Swiech didn't seem to produce many numbers in his 4 minutes last night but I'd still like to see KD work him in a little more frequently. How can you do much worse than 0 points, 0 rebounds, 1 assist, and 5 fouls in 12 minutes??? Swiech is more imposing to me than Bardo. nbs95
In the 4 minutes Swiech played He was 1 out of 4 on FG as well as 1 OF and 1 DEF rebounds totaling two rebounds. Not bad for 4 minutes I must say.
