Hey, "King Zip." The people on this board have been here for YEARS, not just a few posts. How dare you knock the guys on this board as "fair weather." :iws: If that's all you bring to the board, then go the F away.

We'll all be there -- we always are. It's the fans we've regained this season that I wonder about coming Wednesday - Marshall is not the most attractive game and we are not graduating many (senior night). Could be a tough draw.

Figures Miami would lose as most predicted @BG. Couda, wouda, shouda..........

Geezz Captain, tough plane ride or too many :CK_brew::CK_brew::CK_brew:. Hey, you didn't have to watch our team lose a 4 point lead in a minute thirty, a prayer of a three rain on our parade, no one wanting to take a shot and be a hero. another post game beer hounding by the mailman and giddy flusher fans. So go suck down another Warstainer...............

I like the Jose Davis analogy though....tough to beat a team 3 times in one season :D (Lets not talk about Ohio  ) Who's our Jose Davis ? I bet I know everyone's answer around here......

Speaking of which

WE

US

I don't think we are fairweather fans. I just think people don't feel like going to the JAR for every game, but that doesn't mean they are fairweather fans. A fairweather fan is someone who roots for another team or a team above them instead of their own when their team is not playing well. What Zips fan would rather root for the flushes. Our fans care about the Zips and still follow them in the Beacon.

While on the subject, it seems like there are more student fans than "other" white trash fans at Can't. Now who cares about their team more?

You don't feel like going to the JAR for every game... like that is so much of an inconvenience. To admit that makes you worse than a fairweather fan, your just plan casual and not what Akron needs.

I hope you don't buy season tickets and are half of the Blue Hair Seat crowd that never come, leave seats open and make up look bad on TV.

Folks like you should just take your fandom to Cleveland and buy Cavs duckets.

No one here is blaming the loss of Jeremiah Wood for the reason of the losses to Can't. We are 10-5 without him, let's see Can't win without Edwin or Warzinski, or without the alumni referees for that matter. We got screwed throughout most of the first game by the blind refs.

In the second game Rob Preston, Rick McFadden got fouled a lot on shots, especially those undercuts that were quite obvious in front of the refs. Still of course that wasn't the reason for the loss and I'm moving on because this is anyone's conference.

At Gund Arena, this should be a good tournament, but ESPN and the other media sources are so high on the teams below Akron and not us, so why? Our record in the top 100 RPI is better than Buffalo and Ohio.

Once again, Can't and others get too much credit from the media, even in the mid-major polls. :screwks:

In no way does Marshall at home represent a critical game to anyone. You could sit your starting lineup and beat them by 10. That team has thrown the towel in.

Can someone get ZS a tissue?:cry::cry:

You might be new to the area. Can't has played and won without a key player. Nate G. missed all of lastyear and is not close to the player he was two years ago.

I do really like all the comments about the MACC being filled with "white trash" students and fans. I have been to many games @ the jar. I think maybe you might want to rethink those comments and take a closer look at your fan base. The jar is the only MAC arena with a parole officer section.

See you at the Gund. (Where they hold the MAC Championship in Cleveland.) I didn't know if you knew where it is or why people go.

Sorry but you are, indeed, in the boonies. I know it's a trip into the big city for you guys to go to Cleveland or Akron - do you get your provisions for the year when you go?

The fact is we lost two extremely close games without our own matchup to Gerwig. You can dismiss this fact if it makes you feel better. Just thank your lucky stars in your prayers, because with him we would have almost surely been 2-0 against you.

And your "history" and a nickel won't buy your way to the MAC Championship. It's this year that matters. You may do well, or not, but the past is over, my little rural friend.

Zipper

I can tell you for a FACT that antizip and his crowd are nervous about what the Zips are becoming. It is coming, they know it, and a last hooray is all they've got. I smile when I see the posts because it is an indicator of how far we've come already. We are on the radar. Remember the days, when Can't fans wouldn't even have worried about a hip led team. All of this attention is quite a sign. I think the fact is they know we are coming, we are coming quick, and they have borrowed time right now. We gave them the game on Saturday - They can have it. I wouldn't trade places right now in the big picture.

Can't is falling faster than a big, ugly, yellow rock.

I'm sure you fine folks will agree with me that they're the most overrated team in the MAC.

Actually, the MAC doesn't use ratings, it now uses actual standings that reflect how good teams really are and not the empty hype of wishful fans.

We are currently 6-2 vs the other MAC east teams: best record in the division vs. each other. If we are "overrated" what does that make the other teams?

OU certainly gets its chance to put up or shut up this week.

We eagerly await their arrival on Saturday.

This is where you get things confused. Can't is not that good of a team. I have said that all year. Can't has been a great 20 min team all year. Our problem has been the last 20 mins of each game. :wall:

02/26/05 we played the last 20 best. :nutkick:

I worried more about hip's teams. hip's record vs. Can't looks pretty good over kd's.

The Hurd may bring their A game Wednesday. Nice to know it will be the last time anyone sees a.w. williams.

to be honest with you ozoner, the reason why can't state is the most overrated right now is because they are used to 20 win seasons and winning the conference or being in the top 2. I think Miami spoils everyone's fun more than Can't State. Ohio and Akron are underrated because they get no media attention or not too many televised opportunities. Miami, BG, and Can't are liked a lot by FSN more than other teams in my opinion.

Can't has made it to the elite eight and sweet sixteen I think once, but that was the past. I have seen a lot of big wins for all MAC East teams, so I really couldn't tell who could win the tournament right now.

And yes Nate Gerwig has been better than two years ago. Akron needs an enforcer somewhat like him in the future, a rebounder too.
