MAC Power Ranking are Out!

Recommended Posts

While it was nice to get a win tonight, it still doesn't inspire a lot of confidence as the "best team in the MAC", however the MAC does look to be wide open this year, but obviously in a very down year. Here's a blurb from Kyle Whelliston:Reasons to worryThe Mid-American Conference: The best and toughest perennial one-bid league in the country got a No. 9 seed out of Can't State last season. This season has been a major step backward. With a noncon winning percentage of .364 (40-70) and no wins over power-conference opponents, the MAC has melted like cheese. Miami (Ohio), after coming close at UCLA and blowing out Temple on the road, was poised to be the league's saving grace. But the RedHawks struggled mightily Saturday in an 82-46 blowout loss at West Virginia marked with poor guard play. So the MAC looks awful this year, so it might be a year to steal one. I think Buffalo might surprise a lot of people this year for being predicted to finish so low.

The only thing uglier than that first half of basketball vs. St. Francis tonight was the unpreparedness of the staff. There was a decent crowd on hand, pushing 3k i'd guess. It was like they only expected a few hundred. The mini concessions they had in the stairwells for the Dayton game were absent, and just ONE of the three stands downstairs were open. This resulted in lines 15-20 customers deep. I actually walked down there to grab an overpriced soda for my fiancee and myself to split and immediately walked back to my seat. There's no way I could've bought the drink and made it back to my seat in the 15 minutes left of the half. These are the things that make us look bush league. What about the people that got tickets as Christmas gifts? They can't even get their hands on food or drink because of this BS. Needless to say, I'm slightly irritated.

I waited in that line with a friend to get nachos. After 10 minutes of waiting, the lady told me that they dont have jalapenos anymore for the nachos. The reason: "people were complaining they were too hot". No joke. I did not even buy anything after that.

People might laugh at this, but I think that Akron might be the best team in the MAC right now....
Latest Mid-Major poll has only 2 MAC teams in the Top 45: Miami at 23 and Akron at 30. No-one else even got a vote. Can't has managed to fall completely off the list, most likely because :screwks:
