RootforRoo44 Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 Why do buffalo fans always mention their depth? They have about as much depth as the kiddie pool. Honestly they are a team that relies on 5 or 6 main guys and that's all.If we dont win this game it will be an upset no doubt. Quote
Dave in Green Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 Buffalo fans appear to be a sensitive herd with their references to getting revenge for those "obnoxious zippidy-do-da's jumping around in our alumni arena."But I'll give them credit for their rabid team support. They are intense and non-stop. They appear to have discovered a special elixir that allows them to scream for two hours straight without losing their voices. Any Zips fans who will be going to the Q tonight for the first time in this tournament should be prepared. We may outnumber Buffalo fans at the Q, but they will challenge us in both volume and duration on the sound meter. Quote

I do not believe they have more depth, but they are not that far behind. Hopefully Humpty has healed up enough to put some quality minutes in. Quote

I think Karma has to make it right first for us before you. Quote
skip-zip Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 MD...I don't know dude. I don't pay too much attention to what other teams are doing rotation wise, and I love our depth. But I don't even think we play 9 players for 16 or more minutes each. Might have to look that up. Quote

Those are their rabid fans right there. The ones that were actually at that game might be the only ones who are here today. The Zips are going to roll to an easy victory tonight and there will be NO sound from that part of the Q. Quote

But I don't even think we play 9 players for 16 or more minutes each. Might have to look that up.Akron has 10 guys averaging 13 minutes or more. Only 2 guys play 25+ and no one plays 30 MPG.U@B has 11 guys averaging 10 minutes or more. 3 guys play 25+ and Pierce is the only averaging 30 MPG.To me, the depth issue is a wash. U@B plays a bunch of guys .. so do the Zips.A bigger difference appears in scoring averages:Pierce leads the Bulls @ about 15 PPG, with 3 other guys averaging about 8-9 PPG.For Akron 5 guys average between 8 and 12 PPG with no one over 12 PPG.From a distance looking at stats, it would appear the Zips may have more ways to score .. but the Bulls are more balanced than the Zips' 2 most recent opponents.
