ZachTheZip Posted May 24, 2009 Report Posted May 24, 2009 http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/09144/972377-364.stmCarr is headed to the University of Akron to play football, although he is academically ineligible to play as a freshman. He might run track for the Zips, too. Quote
Captain Kangaroo Posted May 24, 2009 Report Posted May 24, 2009 Seems like the odds are stacked against him. Going to school...one month old daughter...playing two sports...that is a heavy load for a valedictorian, let alone non-qualifier.I hope it works out for him. He sounds like he'll be an exciting player if he can pull it off. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted May 24, 2009 Author Report Posted May 24, 2009 It's a tough road, for sure. He needs to take advantage of all the academic support offered at UA, and I know he can make it. Quote

WinZip Posted May 28, 2009 Report Posted May 28, 2009 Carr won the 100 in 10.5 seconds and the 200 in 21.35.Wow! Who couldn't use speed like that?!Think he'd be a spark to both the track and football programs. Quote
brian Posted June 3, 2009 Report Posted June 3, 2009 What does his ineligibility mean for his scholarship or the scholarship numbers for this year? Quote
zff Posted June 3, 2009 Report Posted June 3, 2009 He will not count for this year. He will not be on scholarship. If he completes his class room work he may go on schloarship for next fall. But it does sound like the coaches told him he would go on scholarship if did his class room work. Quote
