How "Smack" was Run Pre-Internet

Recommended Posts

Is that the current Buchtel Hall?
Yes. You can tell by the windows, the lintel over the doors and the brick "columns" on either side of the windows. That is the north entrance (front), with the students standing on the steps. You can even date the photo to the first decade or so of the 20th century, since the "new" Buchtel opened in 1901, and Buchtel College became the Municipal University of Akron in 1912. EDIT TO ADD: But the scores do use "Akron", so it's possible this dates post-1912.Go Buchtel!

It's 1908 and Can't is still 2 years away from sucking!!!
Shh!! They're a historic four corner university!
Yeah I always loved that, they're about as historic as Stautzenberger College.
Hey now. The founding of Can't Normal School in 1910 was a watershed moment... nay, perhaps even the defining moment... in the training of school marms in the Ravenna Metropolitan Area and throughout Portage County. You guys are so needlessly cruel and belittling.

Fixed that for you.
Hey... making fun of Ravenna's school marms is bad enough, dude. But besmirching the wannabe paralegals and dental-office file clerks studying so furiously within the ivy-strewn storefronts of Old Stautzenberger crosses some sorta line. Have you no decency, sir?!
