ZachTheZip
We should play North Carolina at the Info, because we have a mall named Chapel Hill.

I think this is an omen that we should schedule them, what do you think? The Zips should play Wake. In a year or two, they are going to become what they have historically been...potentially much worse than NC State was the year we beat them. Skinner's (QB) last season is this year, they lost Alphonse Smith (second round draft pick), Curry at LB (first round draft pick). Grobe will only be able to win a limited number of games running the fullback dive every other play without them and there will be a steady decline in wins. Actually, the past two seasons have produced a decline in wins.
g-mann17
I say we should schedule both of them (Wake and North Carolina), we can give them the tour of Akron Public Schools and Tusky Valley and say "Thanks for all the Tobacco money that made this all possible."Seriously though, playing teams like Wake, North Carolina, Syracuse, NC State and winning is how you build notoriety. Because like it or not, everyone in the country thinks that those schools (despite being "bottom rung" of their conference) are vastly superior to us. And if you want attention, you schedule BCS schools you have a good chance of winning and then win. That is not to say any of those teams mentioned are push overs, or that I think we can beat Wake or North Carolina in their current state. I just mean that they are more name than any MAC school we ever play and some we have just as good a chance of beating.

Here's the last three seasons2006 11-3 ACC Champions 2007 9-42008 8-5They're 2-1 in Bowl GamesThey're 3-0 VS Florida St (Not saying much since they're down as of late)All their losses except 3 games over the past three seasons have been competitive games.I hardly see 8 wins per season in the past three season as a bottom feeder and ACC conference championship with BCS Bowl as being anywhere close to being a bottom feeder. Dr Z
Personally, I'm tired of playing the Big Ten, I would welcome playing teams like Wake and NC. Yes, I realize the pay day thing. Doesn't change my thoughts though. Big Ten is boring football IMO, and we can't stop pound it up the middle teams with our stack. Don't we get blasted enough with B10 on tv around here?!?! I went down to FLA last year for an NFL game and got to watch three great college football games on tv the day before, I forgot how fun college football is to watch on tv living in NEO. They also lost a winable game against Miami thanks to running the ball around 45 times and passing only like 9 times or something insane. They also don't show an unimpressive win against Navy in their bowl game last year.Wake was 7-5 team last year with a win against a bad team in a bowl game. I think they struggle to go 6-6 next year. I hope I'm wrong because I paid for my season tickets, but I don't see how they can do better.

Zip Watcher
We had our beach vacation down near Myrtle last week, and happened to stop in Winston-Salem on Saturday night on the way down. What a great stop. Downtown hotel under $100/night with an indoor pool. Walkable to lots of good food and other amenities. So good, we did exactly the same thing on the way back. I'd love an excuse to visit W-S again. Maybe we can get WS State in a 3-1 and play one down there if the Demon Deacons won't sign up.Plus all you folks that hate our marketing / broadcasting situation, but perhaps don't understand the revenue it's generating, can visit ISP in person. I think it's right behind the Marriott on 5th St.Great town.

Zip Watcher
Saw it, but we were on our way back from the Brew Pub .. don't remember it's name at the moment, but great stout. Then there was some sort of street music fair one block east of Cherry, from 5th to 7th or so .. very cool. Had a $3 32oz PBR can & my kid got to sit in the pilots seat of a Huey. Also a big metal fest going on at a building near there .. and that brought with it loads of retro cars / 50's cars .. etc. I guess all the metal heads strive to be Jesse James these days. But nice folks .. and happy to show the cars.Spent a week at the beach .. but for me the highlight of the trip might have been Winston-Salem. I really had no idea going in.Go Zips!! bUAkronG
There is also an Akron Street on the Texas Tech University campus, if we're feeling like giving up 700 yards through the air.
MaxZIP
We should play anybody that is willing to come here. At this point getting some 2 for 1 situations will work but we need to get some 1 for 1 games in the near future. I know that has been said before but I am bored.
