zen
The reason we can move up is because no one else is voting anymore...I don't think it's worth messing with....

johnnyzip84
It looks like they may have ended it. The site now has a "cut off" line. We only missed it by 7!!! 13.6% is awesome.
Dr Z
Great work guys! I talked to the new AD and he says he is thinking of hiring you guys for "special" marketing projects, so stay available. Here are the teams who made the cut and the ones that didn't:
xu9697
If my calculations are correct, we were the #4 Non-BCS team, finishing behind Utah, Boise and BYU and finishing ahead of TCU.Nice work guys. Wow, what it would be like to actually get into that group of teams that are definitely well-respected nationally? THAT should be our goal!!! MDZip
It looks like they may have ended it. The site now has a "cut off" line. We only missed it by 7!!! 13.6% is awesome. Not that it really means anything now but votes are still being accepted despite the cut line (and the total is going up very slowly so not many people are voting). Would still be entertaining if we could sneak into the top 40, but regardless still a very impressive showing. Nicely done those of you who were primarily responsible. We may not be the biggest fan group but we're passionate.
Dr Z
Sorry, you're right, there were 500 votes between my last two posts....continue the fight
MDZip
Almost to both UNC and Louisville - and only 7 from the top 40. If only we'd have started sooner.
WinZip
someone doubted me...so now Im making sure we get the #40 spot... will slow down oh 50% now that Im at work 14.2%

MDZip
So it's meaningless but it's still fun to see us there. Nice work.
freddiecoffey
So what would it take to get to number 1?
zen
seriously though, I quit after the results were published. No reason to keep it going now when no one is looking. In fact, if you try to push it too far up the 40, it is going to go beyond looking fishy and we will get discarded all together. There's a time to just let it rideNice effort, though. Save your enthusiasm up for the next poll

ZachTheZip
That was a nice test run. Keep an eye out for the next time, and we'll see if we can't get started a bit earlier.
MDZip
Hey at least we got noticed, that's the goal. Be on alert for the next nation invasion.I went back just to see if we held our position. Someone must have kept working because we are spot #34 now. Regardless, far more fun on the board was the reaction of people at Akron at that spot. Some of them got pretty worked up about it. Here are most of the comments. (I saw a Zippy_UA comment in there as well).Farmhands (8/7/2009 at 8:36 AM) Akron? really, Akron? Come on. There's only two things that have ever came out of Akron and one doesn't even play football.CML1125 (8/7/2009 at 4:16 PM) Akron? Really?... Cmon now, I can argue about 10 teams that didn't make it that should be ahead of Akron.jrussjr (8/7/2009 at 4:59 PM) NC State in the top 5!!!!......Akron in the Top 40!!!!Justinjsu (8/8/2009 at 12:28 AM) Akron and Iowa over North Carolina who decided that crap akron aint won a big game ever have they? What type of idiot would put them in a Division 1-A football program...my high school team could have beat themvincedpirate (8/8/2009 at 1:48 PM) akron? who voted for this? how long has it been out? I came down to NC, NC State, Mizzou, and Maryland for my last sopt and picked Maryland. Akron was no where close. The only ones I voted for that didn't make it were South Carolina ,Louisville, and Maryland, but how is Akron on this list??? I'd put Marshall before Akron!vincedpirate (8/8/2009 at 1:50 PM) crazyness. one guy from Akron must've voted a thousand times(ed. note - Hey WinZip does he know you? )PENNSTATE In Boise (8/8/2009 at 4:10 PM) its a shame the military academies dont get more love. for generations they've been the bread and butter cupcakes for many of the 'top 40'. c'mom..how bout navy instead of akron, nc state, or utard??? after all, notre dame is in....nataliemaehollow (8/8/2009 at 8:12 PM) Akron huh? wow why don't we just put Eastern Michigan at number 6 right under NC state at 5???? nice listpenn_state_7 (8/9/2009 at 2:21 AM) Show Akron some love, you know they are gana roll PSU in Happy Valley..hhaaaahaaPretty funny.
