InTheZone
at Purdue, L 14-31 at Middle Tennessee State, W 28-20 Northern Illinois, L 17-31 Central Michigan, W 28-10 at Buffalo, W 31-13 at Miami, W 21-20 Army, W 30-13 at Bowling Green, L 20-34 at Ball State, W 21-10 Ohio, W 24-20 Can't State, W 51-0 8-3 season if we come to play every week. We're going to need our defense to consistantly hold opponents under four touchdowns to win games this season, and I think they're finally up to the challenge. Looking at all the schedules, I'm seeing a possible three way tie at the top of the East come the end of November with the Zips, Miami, and Bowling Green all at 6-2. Scores in addition to wins.....nice work ITZ. I like your optimism. I think that win at Miami is realistic (mabye) and if it isn't, they are still looking at 7-4. There is also no reason to believe the MTSU will not be a win. If Ringer doesn't fumble the game away last year, we beat them. Beating NIU is also a possibility. NIU has a way of losing road MAC games on a regular basis. My biggest disagreement would be the 51-0 Can't score. I look for Akron to score a late touchdown and score a two point play with no time on the clock for a 53-0 win. No field goals in this game. Keep believing bro, you and I seem to be the only two on this board with any faith.

The key for this season is the CMU game and the hope that Akron can bounce back after another 0-3 start. Must be some pretty good dope that In the Zone was smoking to think that Akron would be beating MTSU and Miami on the road in 2005. Could not beat either at home last year, what make's Akron better in 2005? I look for another late season surge, but the OU and Can't State games will both be toss ups in my book. Dr Z
Don't quite know where the offense is going to come from after seeing the Spring game. I'm not going to fault a guy for being optimistic, that's what being a fan is about, but I agree with your statement King. During that game I kept asking myself that same question. I trust JD will have them looking better by late summer. Zone, if we go 8-3 this year I will owe you a beer. You are the first with brave predictions. We can all agree on one thing though... Zipsrifle
OK, typically I wait till the fall, but it's slow around here. I'm not as optimistic as some of you guys. at Purdue, L 16-52 at Middle Tennessee State, L, 20-31 Northern Illinois, L, 13-41 Central Michigan, W, 28-24 at Buffalo, W, 28-27 at Miami, L, 24-38 Army, W, 30-20 at Bowling Green, L, 16-45 at Ball State, L, 24-27 Ohio, W, 27-17 Can't State, W, 28-27 Purdue, just too much. MTSU, it's away, experience hurts us. NIU, top tier MAC team, they run all over us. Central, we're home. Buffalo, we're away and frankly, they give us all we can handle. Miami, we get screwed by the officials. Army, big crowd, team is pumped, no problem. BG, no contest. BSU, sorry folks, I can't remember a year when we didn't lose a game we should have won. This is the game. OU, it's close till the end. Can't, dogfight, as ususal. Like I've said before, I'll be very happy with a winning season. Prove me wrong Zips! Yeah it was real good. Maybe you should try some. And Dr Z, I'm going to take you up on that beer offer at the end of the season so be ready
NIUBIGGS
Beating NIU is also a possibility. NIU has a way of losing road MAC games on a regular basis 2004 away conference win loss - 4 and 0 2003 away conference win loss - 2 and 2 losses comming from bowling green and toledo 2002 away conference win loss - 4 and 0 2001 away conference win loss - 1 and 2 losses comming from Can't and toledo 4 year conference road record 11 wins 4 losses We are toledos bitch..but I wouldnt say our road record is bad. InTheZone
And as bad as Bowling Green looked last night, I'm starting to wonder about my predicted loss to them. Like I've said since March, this could be a very exciting year for Zips fans!! Rebuilding my arse .
InTheZone
8-3 season if we come to play every week. Well with everybody giving GP crap for patting himself on the back, I thought I'd take some of the heat off and pat myself on that back . I was right about the 3 way tie I predicted back in May, though I said 6-2 for all the teams, who would've imagined 3 teams at 5-3!! Also, my 8-3 prediction should've been right if the Zips hadn't pissed down their leg against Army and Ball St. I told you guys back after Spring we'd compete for the MACC, and here we are!!! Keep the faith always boys, GO ZIPS!!!!
