Very well written. the final paragraph really sums up everything we as a conference ask when we go into these death-trap games

We aren’t asking you to fear us. Just respect us as an opponent that is going to work hard. We want you to realize that Scout and Rivals don’t get ‘em all right and we do have some players who could play for you. The NFL believes we do. We’re just living the dream of trying to be better today than we were yesterday. Why that causes scorn I don’t understand, but we aren’t going to back down and play the patsy no matter how much money you pay us.

Some food for thought when we think of Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, Florida, USC, Notre Dame... well, you get the point.http://themacdaily.com/index.php?p=1_95
:rock::rock::rock::rock::rock:
Drive around your community and look at the cars. If you see “Arkansas State” or “North Texas” or whatever the local team is outside of the rich six leagues, you can see that and with some certainty conclude the driver either is a student at the school, an alumnus, or a relative of a student.Now look at the cars with the “Arkansas”, “Texas”, or “Oklahoma” logos. You cannot make the assumption they went to college there or any place else. You can’t safely guess they know a student there. You cannot even assume they’ve ever even been inside the stadium. You’ve got a pack of hanger-ons who really hurt the reputation of your good fans.
Absolutely true.

I think it's significantly overrated. This sounds like a bunch of whining to me.If a team / school wants to be treated & considered a big time team, they should act and perform like a big time team. Win big games .. build and maintain big time facilities .. treat the fans the way they are at big time programs. Act like you belong there .. learn how to belong there .. belong there. Ask for no breaks, and give no breaks. Earn it on the field.Are Boise and Gonzaga fans posting this on their forums today? I'd suspect not.Go Ziips

To hel_ with the MAC. This year begins our future of MAC domination in multiple sports, which coincides with the inaugural year for the Info, renewed talk of a new arena for KD& Co., and an energized campus. The MAC is going to be left in our rear view mirror very soon. I've said it about 50 times in recent days in these forums (unacknowledged by the way...thanks ZN) that I find it incredible (as in unbelievable, unlikely, no way jose) that UA spent SO much money on a football stadium that FAR outclasses the others in the MAC, and does not have an eye toward transcending the MAC. Proenza and Wistrcill cannot possibly be planning to keep this program in the MAC. If so, they could have spent far less on the Info and still had a first-rate MAC stadium. If the plan is to stay in the MAC long term, they just WAY over spent on this facility. Now let's hope that JD can back up my big talk, and win some games!GO ZIPS!STZ

We must earn everything we get. Forget about anything less than a spirit of "We're coming after every opponent and we're going to beat their butt."You're only inferior if you let the opposition make you feel that way. It starts and ends with us, not them. ;)

SeeTee, these things take time but the eye of Proenza, the board of trustees and our AD is beyond the MAC. We have to earn the right to move up and that means we have to be attractive to another conference, whether new, realigned or expanded. We ain't there yet, but we are on our way. Top attendance and wins over bigger opponents are benchmarks that show we are there, among other things.Keep the faith. We are moving in that direction.
