xu9697
I like option #3, but make Maryland come to AkronDuh...well, I think we would all choose that one then!!!Most teams in our situation have to choose= play 1 big, 1 small (FCS) if you want 2 in your house, play 2 mediums where you can get 1 for 1s or do what teams like BG, Toledo and Can't have done= play a bigger program "at home" but miss out on the big game at your stadium.Indiana coming here is fun, but I am more of the preference of getting 2 good or "name" non-BCS teams (Navy, Southern Miss, TCU, Houston, East Carolina, etc.) on the schedule vs. 1 BCS team and 1 FCS team. UADavid
I think above all else, they need to get the schedule more balanced so we don't end up with three home games in November every year.
Zip Watcher
Option 4: :D Can't State (alternating H & A, last regular season game), 2 Other BCS or CUSA / MWC (1 Home / 1 Away), Service Academy (Alternating).Always 2 home & 2 away, plus 4 conference home games .. 6 game home slate every year. Maybe add a MAC or Sunbelt team in place of the Service Academy game every 3rd year or so. No games at Brown's Stadium .. it's a dump compared to the Info. B) B) Go Zips! skip-zip
Hmmm....a game against Michigan at Brown's Stadium??? I think a lot of Suckeye fans would show up and root for us. That could work.
Dr Z
No games at Brown's Stadium .. it's a dump compared to the Info.+1 Didn't we just build a nice stadium on campus???? And skip is right, Columbus State fans would show up. I don't want them at a Zips game. Stay away. We want to build a fan base of Zips fans starting with our students, IMO we do that every time we have a game at The Info. Get as many games there as you can. In five or six years we will have triple the alumni at the games. That's where it's at!
bandzip
I voted option one. Money game at Michigan, win towards bowl eligibility vs. Norfolk, get another bottom Big Ten team and potential win at home in Minnesota, and go to Louisville just to see what happens. Maybe replace Louisville with a military academy?

Those Cowlumbus State fans would probably show up and root for us......wearing their Suckeye gear. We don't want that. But if we got a chance to play Michigan, I'd rather it be in Cleveland than in Ann Arbor. The problem is, with Michigan's new expansion, they can now fit a major American city inside that place. So, there really is no incentive for them to play for a good payoff at a "much smaller" Browns stadium.
zipsbandman
I elect NO games at browns stadium and NO games on any day but Saturday. Lets build our fan base right here in Akron.
Z.I.P.
People,The Z.I.P. is still waiting for the start of the Zips vs Rainbow Warriors series. Did Lee Owens not mention to JD Brookhart that he still owes a game in Aloha Stadium? Frankly -- any game West of the Missouri River is what I would now accept. Exceptions: Wyoming, Idaho, New Mex St., UTEP...well, just have JD ring me up, or text me.
RootforRoo44
Why the hell would we play at "the house that losing built" when we have this brand new beautiful stadium to play at?Btw, i am a huge browns fan. I'm just depressed about Cleveland sports
ctmjbowes@sbcglobal.net
I voted for #1, because:at Mich: Huge attention-getter to start the season; damn it we're going to get one of these very soon. "NAME" game big time.vs. Norfolk State: Bring another sacrificial lamb to the Info. It's our version of Big Ten powers feasting on the MAC. Come in and be crushed. Bye.vs. Minnesota: Winnable Big10 game; do a one and one or some such, bring 'em to the INFO to be humiliated. "NAME" game.at Louisville: Another "NAME" game, in that Appalachian hell known as Ken-make-out-with-your-sister-tucky that should be winnable some years. That is a good looking schedule that Joe Sixpack will look at and think is "major". Good stuff.STZ

ZippyTuba11
Voted for #1 one. Except Norfolk, are all big local schools, and this more important than beating the houstons of the world.
MDZip
I actually like this years schedule best (which is akin to your schedule #1). One payday game where we make some cash and at least have the opportunity to get some national attention with a big upset, one "we pay" game where we bring in someone to get a guaranteed six home games and then two against either lower tier BCS teams or upper tier of the other conferences, one home and one away. Kangaroo Craig
I like option 1 as well. No games at Browns stadium and another Big 11 program comes to Akron. Louisville is also a big time opponent.
Zip N' Dots
I elect NO games at browns stadium and NO games on any day but Saturday. Lets build our fan base right here in Akron.I'll 2nd that!Option one is my favorite. A home game against an FCS school to build confidence and 3 quality but beatable FBS opponents. Also, I think the Louisville agreement should have a return game involved and no more than a 2 for 1.
xu9697
I think the ONLY WAY I am open to playing OSU, Mich, PSU or ND (thinking of the 4 bigger named Midwest schools that MIGHT come to play here) at Browns stadium is if it is our 7th home game. And the chances of that are slim. PERHAPS we could get a year where we play one of those 4 at home, then get a "name FSC team" in say, Villanova along with a team like Navy (who we could get in a 1 for 1).There just is no good reason to not play 6 home games at INFO!!!In an ideal world, within 5 years we will a program like Boise, TCU, Utah where playing at our place doesn't hurt a majority of the BCS programs (besides maybe the top 15-20 name teams). In other words, it would be a valued win beating Akron at Akron (like Oregon could have had a good win by winning at Boise). In an even more ideal world, we will have dominated the MAC for 5 years and be welcomed into the new Big East!!!
UA Fan
I actually like this years schedule best (which is akin to your schedule #1). One payday game where we make some cash and at least have the opportunity to get some national attention with a big upset, one "we pay" game where we bring in someone to get a guaranteed six home games and then two against either lower tier BCS teams or upper tier of the other conferences, one home and one away.+1. The trade-off though is that we'll make less money on the "home-only" (fcs) game than we would with a 2nd payday game, and some other aspiring program (wku, fau, fiu...) will get the payday game and $$ to build their program up to compete with the rest of us. But then again, it would be good for the local economy to have the home game if we can draw a decent crowd.

scottditzen
I picked # 3...but it wasn't easy. Most of all I would love to see Pitt play us at the Info. You know their fans would travel well, and I'm not sure you can say the same about Norfolk State, Minnesota, So. Miss or Navy. I don't mind the game in Cleveland vs. Michigan. I honestly think the game would draw much much better than our "epic" battle with Army last time. And I am not sure a program as big as Michigan plays in stadiums as small as Info, though I could be wrong. Also, I don't care if we ever play another FCS team. Yeah I know we need wins for bowl eligibility, but still, lets find some bigger teams than Morgan State to beat up.

PS: I would rather not play at Browns stadium...I think there is some money invested ON CAMPUS where out beautiful stadium is practically begging for use(I think I just accidently imitated someone)
