UAZipster0305 Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 http://www.csuvikings.com/facilities/krenzler.html"The removable dome, a product of Yeadon Domes, covers the entire length of Krenzler Field, approximately 94,000 square feet, with a 60-foot ceiling. It is made of a heavy duty vinyl coated flame resistant polyester architectural fabric." CSU soccer has this and we don't? How great would it to have a dome for late November and early December NCAA Tournament games? Quote
Zipsrifle Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 Well, I'm sure your donation to the soccer stadium will bring this closer to a reality. I'm just glad to be getting the upgrades for the best soccer program in the country! Quote
zippy5 Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 Maybe a dome wouldn't be such a great idea with natural grass? nah that couldn't be it. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 I think the new field should be able to hold up better. Let's wait and see how it does for a full season before deciding that we need to spend money on a soccer dome instead of a basketball arena or baseball stands. Quote

You can't watch from the stands when the dome is up...it would do no good for us to have a similar setup as the dome only covers the field and not the stands. Quote
g-mann17 Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 The simple answer? We already have the Stiles Athletic Field house (about $14 million?) that also allows track, football, golf, baseball, & Softball to all practice in, and has room for spectators. And not to mention it is a dedicated practice facility and not a game day facility like Krenzler. Quote
