MDZip
I can't do it all by myself. Nice opening game MAC win against Buffalo. Kara Murphy with 21 points, no doubt she will be the ladies all time leading scorer when she's done. Nice job Coach Kest and team!
ZachTheZip
It was a good win. Two wins in a double-header at the JAR is a great day.I hope that everyone is at the JAR on Wednesday. We're playing Can't State, and . I'm going to try bringing my laptop and watching the women's game and the free feed from Athens for the men's game at the same time. joshgozips
Kara is actually only 298 points behind the 2nd all-time highest scorer - Pam Arnold - and 466 points behind all-time leading scorer Cheryl Bowles. Right now, Kara is averaging 14.1 points a game and has 15 games left in the regular season. If she just averaged 14.1, it would put her only 86 points behind Arnold and 254 behind Bowles entering Kara's senior season of 2010-2011.Those who are regular followers of Akron women's basketball realize that Kara is capable on a regular basis of going for 20+ a game as she did against Buffalo. #2 on the all-time scoring list is a real possibility for this year.All-time leading scorer? Barring a seriously bad break or tragedy, for Kara - the only question is "when"....
72 Roo
What happened to Rachel Tecca in the Buffalo game? She has been playing out of her mind lately and then against UB only 10 or so minutes. Is she hurt? How about an update from the nation. Thanks. Those of us who live out of town appreciate the updates.I have high hopes for the ladies. It seems Jodi's program is getting traction and starting to grow nicely.
