bUAkronG
Hey guys, I wanted to rip McNees' clutch three before it got lost forever so I worked on getting it captured and put on youtube. Sorry about the audio. I had a lot of problems recording my screen. the vid is still processing so hopefully it'll get clearer after some time. MDZip
I think he just wants to make a push for a second consecutive all-MAC tournament team.
GoZips88
WHOOPS!!!! I HATE when that happens! Just watched the replay of Higgins 3 with 6 seconds left in the first overtime on DVR. On the Akron inbounds, the clock does NOT start for a full second after McNeese touches the ball. Not at all sure McNeese's shot would have counted without it. Karma. Karma. lol we wish it were like that... but Steve released the ball with around 3 seconds leftYeah, I guess it does take a couple of seconds for the ball to travel as far as it had to once it left his hands. What IS it with the clock handler at The Q??? Aren't the refs controlling that now? Are MAC refs bad at that too?
jem101
That was the best shot in the Q since game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals last year.
Dave in Green
I had the distinct pleasure of running into Steve McNees at a concession window at the Q after the Can't game, and got to shake the hand that fired The Shot. All I could keep saying to Steve and Nik and Nitro, who were all standing there smiling, was, "I love watching you guys play. I love watching you guys play." Nik said with a big smile, "Be here tomorrow night."

tbozeglav
That was the best shot in the Q since game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals last year.pretty much gonna have to second that one. Lebron's shot only outduels that one because it was the game-winner

zipfan85
if the shot was a game winner, then it would have been a sportcenter top 10. i can't believe a block from the western v central game made it in, but not steve's shot.

Quickzips
I think my favorite thing about that whole sequence is watching the reactions of guys afterwards. McNees does the little hanging hand thing for a second, then starts moving back on defense, then when the timeout is called, he walks to the bench like nothing happened. He knows the game is just tied, and that they have 5 more minutes. Yeah, it was a big shot, but not time to celebrate yet. EMU's players on the other hand, looked totally dejected. Could have seen then how the 2nd OT was going to play out just by looking at the body language.McNees has taken a lot of crap on these forums, but he is still one of the most exciting players on this team. You never know when he is going to get hot from beyond the arc, but you sure know that when it happens you don't want to miss it.

You know, I said to my friend in the stands that after the after the game Steve had vs K-SU-C-K-S that he was going to go off for 6 3s vs EMU. Even though he only hit 4, I said I'm still right because that last one was worth as much as 10 3s.
Dave in Green
Just did a little stat research on McNees at the Q to see how well he shoots 3s when an NCAA tournament bid is on the line.In 187 minutes of PT in 8 MAC tournament games over the past 3 years, McNees has attempted 26 3-pointers and made 16 for a 3-point shooting percentage of:61.5%
