A Northwestern fan did a great job of confirming 13 of 16 CIT and 4 of 16 CBI bids before Northwestern made the NIT. But no UA yet.

Just looking at the names, the CIT looks better. It's a tournament full of teams that look equal to Akron. Perfect to see just where we stand in the basketball world.

There is a rumor about a Wisc-Green Bay at Akron matchup in the CBI starting to percolate.

Crap, VCU is now in the CBI...and I thought we had a chance to win this thing.

Damn..I hope you're wrong. VCU would own this competition. How the hell didn't they get into the NIT? They would whoop some K-ent behind.

St. Louis isn't a team to be taken lightly either. They gave Dayton one heck of a game. This is going to be a fun tourney.

neither Princeton or Hofstra have been confirmed by those schools tho

Hofstra cancelled it's football program this year. If they refuse a post season in BB, there will be an armed insurrection. And tuition there makes Akron look FREE. It's over $25k per year last I heard. They gotta spend that money someplace.

This game only matters as a way to get some practice in against similar competition.

Honestly, besides winning this, it wont do anything for "joe akron".

That being said, i'll probably still go Wednesday and cheer the Zippers on along with 12 other fans.

One big benefit to this is it keeps the team in action, practicing & playing. Anything to extend the season for Zeke, the other youngsters and seniors is a good thing. It will have benefits for the future.

It's the most important thing. Keep playing. Keep practicing. Keep getting more film on the players. Other MAC schools would kill to have that advantage. And if we win a couple games, we could get more practice in than Can't or OU.
