GoZips.com has put up a Signing Day Central. It will provide live updates as the LOIs get faxed in. I love this idea.

Yet another idea taken from ZipsNation. You're welcome Tom.

Good luck with the $1.00 Buck-a-Roo Night..oh, I mean "Dollar Night"... next Wednesday!

Next time, please use the name too. Using 1/2 of a good idea is not as good as using all of it.

OL Andrew Hampton from Warren Harding was spotted on campus today making a visit.

This is very bad for us. I know Andrew's parents, yes he's a very good kid and a hard worker, but in no way is he a D-I recruit. His only offers have been Patriot league schools like Bucknell and Holy Cross. Youngstown State isn't even giving him a look. Looks like we're getting a bit desperate.

I don't think our coaching staff makes a distinction between MAC-level players and D-II players. They're all lumped together as "not what we used to get at Notre Dame".

He sounds like the right size for a linebacker or long snapper. Any chance he is being looked at for those positions?

Historically if you look at a lot of our offensive linemen, they were brought in at 245 lbs, and beef up to 300 by their redshirt freshman year. Kemme is a good example. If the kid is athletic, with a good frame, he's fine.

He has D-III and small FCS offers.

Good kid, good grades, certainly now going to put us on the map for football.

If we can get that running back who's verbaled to YSU from Warren Harding, that would be huge. The kid has all the instincts that Boom Herron has at Ohio State. He would be a nice get and a nice steal from our friends at Ytown.

Don't disagree with anything you've said. His personal stats on the scoutingohio site show that he was a long snapper.

Talked to the guy who told me former WGH LB Davion Rogers (3-Star to Michigan) appeared to be heading to YSU. The next day the Youngstown Vindicator reported it. Since he is a WGH guy, he has some sources up in Warren.

He said Hymes and Folmar plan to fulfill their commitment to YSU. Hearing Folmar may have to sit out a year to get his grades in order. That is what Cardinal Mooney OL, Eric Franklin, did this past year. He too had an offer to Akron.

Hymes just picked up an offer to Miami (OH) as well.

Hymes wants to play d1 football. There's a reason Harding kids don't go Iaa. That's below them. Not sure of your sources but they're wrong. He will end up going to Miami Ohio or Akron

Yawn... We'll see if you're talking when YSU signs 4 WGH players Wednesday and Akron signs Andrew Hampton to preferred walk-on status.

His scouting Ohio page lists Miami and Akron as well.

This kid's the real deal. After seeing his game vs. Massillon it shows what he can be. You see a lot of people run for 300 yards against garbage teams, but I can only remember one Maurice Clarett doing it at WGH history. I'm not a Harding fan, but follow Trumbull County football. He's up there with Boom Herron, I've said that for 3 years. Lucky for us he was injured a little this year.

Look at the comparisons between he and Boom coming out of high school

Hymes: 5'10

Boom: 5'9.5

Hymes: 4.49 40 time

Boom: 4.55

Hymes: 190 weight

Boom: 198

Hymes: 320 bench

Boom: 355

Hymes: 35" Vertical

Boom: 37"

Hymes: 1,359 sr year rushing yards

Boom: 1,550

I think the evidence is there, Hymes is obviously a D-I player with all of his offers, stats and times.
