ditchrider1 Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 There seems to be something missing... No kidding. At least they remembered Temple... The sooner we all begin to accept that Akron football is insignificant in the eyes of the rest of the country, the less heartache we will all suffer. Seriously, its one thing after another. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted June 24, 2010 Author Report Posted June 24, 2010 We've been complacent for too long. Screw CFN. I started a thread on their forums to complain. I doubt they'll read it but if they try and point out a lack of interest, we can point to that if enough of us show that we care. Quote

But we WILL have the last laugh because I'm pretty damn sure that The ZIPS will be the 2010 . Winning will make everything right. Quote
Dr Z Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 Quarterback Running Back Receivers Tight Ends Kickers There seems to be something missing... I think they missed Nicely & Allen, but that's probably it. You know their story better than the writer does, so are you really missing anything? Then again, maybe the writer doesn't feel Akron has a top QB, RB, WR, TE or K!?!? Hopefully the team changes his mind by the end of the season. Quote

The true test for CFN will be how we fare on the Defensive top players. They said we have 8 returning starters for this year which would be our strength...they did list our Offense last year as the biggest disapointment of our team. Still to hell with them! Quote

The idea behind the QB and RB position ratings is to rate the relative strengths of all the teams in the conference. If they felt like we didn't have a good player at those positions, they could have put us at 13th. Everyone here knows that Nicely and Allen aren't the worst QB and RB in the conference. Not by a long shot. I also think LaFrance deserves some kind of mention. Quote
Dr Z Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 The idea behind the QB and RB position ratings is to rate the relative strengths of all the teams in the conference.I don't think that is their idea. It says TOP (QB, RB, TE, WR, K), not all. They ranked a BG running back, but did not list a BG wide receiver because they feel BG does not have a top wr in the conference. If they listed all, some teams may have two kickers on the list before one of ours. So maybe they feel we don't have a top anything. If I were an Akron skill player, I would use this as motivation and place the list in my locker. Quote
skip-zip Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 Look closely, and you'll see that they have more than one player from a team at some positions. It doesn't appear as if they intended to rank each team by position, but simply the best 12 players in the league at that position. Allen and Nicely? Seriously? One of them has hardly played due to injury, and the other was a 3rd stringer who got thrown into duty. Would anyone really think that a rating service would project either of them to be among the top dozen or so players in the league at their position? Well....apparently the bar has been set pretty low. We can only overachieve from here. Quote

Is that between 7 am and 4 pm, 7 pm and 4am, 7am and 4 am, or 7pm and 4 pm? Just kidding, I realize you weren't referring to the time you would make the rating, and Congratulations. You get to sit next to dreal at all the home games. Quote
