I know this is beating a dead horse, but...

Mr Wistrcill referred me to Director of Licensing, Bryan Huettmann, who referred me to Pat at Barnes & Noble who has taken over the day-to-day sales and game day sales for Akron Athletics. I just got off the phone with Pat. He is aware of the demand. He reads ZN and wants to help. He is going to re-check into the making of player jerseys, authentic and replica. The last time he checked he said he thought he had to order over 100 and wasn't sure there was demand for specific names and numbers. He says they sell a generic number 1 at the store. He said they are trying real hard to get the team shop open before the start of the season, but reminds everybody that they have a trailer on game day outside of the stadium and two shops inside the stadium. He has promised to email me information if/when he is able to provide jerseys...stay tuned.

Thanks for the info Dr.Z! The University/stores selling Zip merchandise could explore all options about getting more Zip merchandise. I realize there are minimums when ordering, but would it be possible for all involved to enter into some kind of co-op in order to meet the min requirements? How about providing replicas with several common numbers for those that don't want to pay a higher price, but make the authentic official jerseys for those that want them? For example, football. Let's say you may order an authentic jersey with your son's number. Most parents would probably purchase 1-2, not counting siblings, grandparents, friends and possibly other fans who have a favorite player. I'm not sure of all the other sport's suppliers (I assume they all are adidas) but authentic jerseys could be made available to them also. Barnes & Noble could prepare a pre-order form for all the sports and mail them to the parents to gage their interest in the authentic jerseys. If the stores don't want to embark on the authentic jerseys for all sports, could the University work with adidas and make this option available with proceeds going to the Z Fund? Just some suggestions that may or may not be there.

Thanks for the research! they do have the #1 jerseys but the are just a generic blue jersey with a zips logo on the sleeve and a number. Hopefully they can get the replicas of the une uni's from last year with the white striping and Akron on the front.

At least they are aware of the demand. They can just order a #7 and #34 and I think they would sell great!

My sons want an Anthony Schrock replica jersey. He was a teammate of theirs.

If only he had gone to the College of Wooster...

Do we know what number he is going to be?

If there are no jerseys available, does it matter?

There is a Zip football jersey #8 hanging in the brand new Beef O' Brady's in Wadsworth. That was his high school number. It might be his college number too.

I sure hope so cause that would set a new team record for the most guys a single number has been assigned to at the same point in time.
