Z.I.P. Posted July 26, 2010 Report Posted July 26, 2010 For those who could not catch the Fox Soccer Channel national broadcast of last night's Seattle Sounders 2-1 win over Colorado Rapids at Qwest Field, it was quite a night for the 2nd year Forward, #11. FSC gave Zakuani a long interview in the pre-game, catching on everything from his youth in the Congo, to his move to London, to the moped accident that nearly ended his football career, as well as his recruitment by Akron. Then came THE GAME, and Zaki put on a show for Seattle with a career game, scoring both Sounder goals early in the first half -- and very nearly making it a hat trick with a tap-in goal that was waved off-sides midway through the second half. Looks like Seattle are starting to round into shape to try and make a playoff run. Nate Jaqua returns from his long injury -- in fact I think he played in the second half lastnight. I give the Sounders a 50-50 shot at making the playoffs. And as Real Salt Lake showed last year, if you get in by a point, you can win it all. Quote

I watched the highlights of that game on the Sounders website at lunch. Wish I could have seen it (too late Eastern time) or had a DVR. I'm actually going to be in LA on August 14th and am looking forward to seeing Seattle at Chivas USA. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted July 26, 2010 Report Posted July 26, 2010 It was a great day for the last two Zips (and NCAA) scoring leaders. Steve-O notches two goals, and Teal Bunbury's KC Wizards defeated Manchester United 2-1 at home in front of 52,424 people. Sir Alex Ferguson even had this to day about Teal: "Their centre-forward [Teal Bunbury] was a handful physically. He gave us a hard time that way." Quote

Sir Alex Ferguson even had this to day about Teal: "Their centre-forward [Teal Bunbury] was a handful physically. He gave us a hard time that way." Praise from SAF! I was thinking maybe he was referring to Kei Kamara, who had a goal and assist, but Teal WAS playing the central striker. We'll take it! Quote

KC Star (article below) KC Wizards stadium commercial with Kamara, Bunbury ... is awesome Charles Gooch The Kansas City Star During last night's broadcast of the Kansas City Wizards-Manchester United game, fans were treated to the Wizards new commercial for their new stadium. And... it was funny and awesome. It stars forwards Kei Kamara and Teal "That Big Lad Up Front" Bunbury* getting ready for the stadium opening. *Teal's new nickname comes from Sir Alex Ferguson himself. johnnyzip84 Posted August 3, 2010 Report Posted August 3, 2010 Speculation on Steve-O heading to Europe before too long. Link Quote

How can we get the public to identify with us if we don't even know who we are? Quote
