Hilltopper Posted August 14, 2010 Report Posted August 14, 2010 I got to spend some time today with former Zips standout Jimmal Ball. He still looks great and loves playing in France. He lives in Paris and really enjoys the freewheeling lifestyle of a young single man, if you get my drift. He has now played 10 seasons in Europe. Stats If anyone can speak French, here is his fan site. www.jimmalball.com He has played most of his career in France, but did spend a couple of seasons in Germany and one very memorable season in Kosovo. It looks to that the 3 time French MVP won't be hanging it up anytime soon. BTW, his all time best vertical was 38" and when he left school was a Zips record. Quote
Blue & Gold Posted August 15, 2010 Report Posted August 15, 2010 One of my all-time favorite Zips! Where'd you run into Spiderman Ball? Quote
Hilltopper Posted August 15, 2010 Author Report Posted August 15, 2010 One of my all-time favorite Zips! Where'd you run into Spiderman Ball? He's a regular customer at my business. When he is in town(Canton), we see him a couple of times a month. Quote
skip-zip Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 Thanks for the update, Hilltopper. I'll never forget his performance as a freshman in that game against Xavier at the JAR about 15 years ago. One of my most memorable Zips games ever. I only rank the 1986 OT game against Cleveland State, and the OVC Championship Game a season earlier above that one. Quote
RootforRoo44 Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 Jimmal Ball sighting on ESPN! His former team (Jeanne d'Arc Vichy) beat his current team (Paris-Levallois) and the ending made top plays on Sportscenter. I didnt catch the name of the Vichy player but they said he was a former VCU Ram and he hit a ridiculous half courter to win it at the buzzer. But in the highlight I believe it's Jimmal at the bottom. Quote
